Just so we are clear. The Bucks did not tank. They actually tried to put together a sneaky good team. Bill Simmons predicted they would make the playoffs the year they got Jabari. Between Jennings, Sanders, Mayo, Giannis, Illyasova, and other fillers, a lot of people thought they could be an 8 seed.

They weren't good. Unintentionally, they were very bad.

Bucks team Rocks

Wow .....

Tankng worked there
They didn't tank. The year they got Jabari, they were supposed to be good and everyone got hurt. They actually signed free agents to make themselves better before the year.

How did they get Jabari Parker?

The 2014-2015 Bucks were a really, really good defensive team. Zaza and John Henson are both very good defensive centers.

Greg Monroe and Jabari Parker, on the other hand are good scorers who will provide terrible interior defense. It will be interesting to watch.

Rajon Rondo would be a good fit at the point with that team.

Whether they tried to tank or not, they had the worst record in the league for a season and it worked out real well for them.

I guess we should wait to say that until Jabari proves he can live up to some significant portion of his potential, but I feel pretty good betting on that.

With Monroe in the fold I wonder if they would consider dealing Henson.

Idk, you would imagine he would give them a defensive presence Monroe just doesn't have, but they've been open to dealing him before.

If you could trade for him, what would you offer? I worry about dealing KO and Sully, we need another big besides Jerebko who can shoot. Johnson has good 3pt percentages the past few years, does anyone know if he's a legit outside threat? And between Mickey and Amir, who are both under-sized but can block shots, how much do you think we should push for more rim-protection?

Monroe will sign a three year deal, with a player option on the third year, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

He's right -- the Bucks gave Sanders a contract extension, brought in Mayo, Gary Neal (who was a hot commodity, sort of, after his Finals performance), traded Jennings for Brandon Knight... etc. They were bad, but they weren't necessarily trying to be that bad.

I really like this deal from Monroe's perspective, it's long enough to be guaranteed good money, but lets him become a FA after the big cap jumps.  Between this and choosing to play for the QO last year, he's being really smart, keeping his options open, and showing unhappy players on rookie deals that they have a way out.  Good for him.
I'm bitter.

What a fantastic occurrence for the NBA.  A small market attracting a big time player.  Love it.

Bucks will be good next year, they will destroy us.

Makes the Amir singing that much more depressing.  :'(
