Being reported several places including:

http://www.wftv.com/news/news/local/source-dwight-howard-stay-magic-through-2012-13-se/nLSmb/

I imagine there will be a flurry of activity by other teams if this is true, as everyone can stop holding their breath on the DH trade.

Thanks for posting this. I just read of this as well.

Supposedly, Dwight has told his teammates, but not Magic brass yet.

Leads me to believe that Dwight Howard does have some loyalty to the Magic as an organization. Interesting.

Yeah its being confirmed across the web by a variety of reputable people.

So no Dwight Howard as a FA, Deron's gone to Dallas, and Danny now suddenly has the green light to rent cap space for this coming year.

Dwight must have read this:

http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/7686147/orlando-magic-saying-trade-dwight-howard-absent-commitment-sources-say

If it's true, Dwight's backing up his talk, like his critics asked him to.

Dwight has been saying that he has been strongly considering this for quite awhile now.

Not surprised that he has done so if this report is accurate.

Dwight Howard loves Orlando. Desperately wants to stay there. That should be clear for everyone to see. He is just unhappy that the front office hasn't put enough talent around him. He just feels he has no other option but to leave if he wants to win a title.

It's clear how conflicted he has been from the very start.

Yeah, that Okafor + Rockets Wolves draft pick trade suddenly looks very interesting.

BTW, Deron Williams has the same player option in his contract.

So, he could say he'll stay in Jersey another season. Meaning next year's offseason could be the big FA bonanza.

Deron Williams doesn't want to play another year on a pretty bad Nets team. Not when Dallas is sitting there as an extremely attractive option.

So does Josh Smith. He has only one year left on his deal. We could do a lot now after hearing this news. Hopefully we just make the right moves.

Definitely an option worth considering though the two extra years are painful to look at.
