Dwane Casey and Lawrence Frank are Rockets finalists along w/third finalist Houston Chronicle's @richardjustice named Monday: Kevin McHale

Off topic: Golden State is also interested in Dwane Casey. (Mike Brown is the other candidate on their short list)

I'm going to mark this down as bad news because Frank is probably the logical choice for head coach after Doc "retires" this summer.

This indicates to me that the Celtics have no interest in Frank as their next head coach, otherwise they would not have given permission to his interview.  I could see McHale step in, or even Larry Bird, if he becomes available and can stomach working for Danny.  I would not mind Mike Brown, actually. I thought he did a good job in Cleveland, especially on the defensive end.

I hope he stays here and replaces Doc.

Not sure about McHale but jeez imagine Larry Bird as coach. Regardless of what the team looked like, excitement levels would be through the roof.

If we don't flip the script in this series, we probably have a whole new coaching staff whenever the next season is.

Larry Bird is staying in Indiana.

We're also known for letting our assistants go after head coaching jobs. Part of why good young coaches want to work in Boston. Even though they're the competition, you know everyone in the organization is happy about the job Thibodeau did. We have to be one of the best-run organizations anywhere, and this is one of the reasons why.
