I agree. To use a cliche, "Too soon."

I really liked the draft combine thing they did last year.

The draft combine feature is going to be free with 2k11's My Player mode, it's the first thing you do as a new player (along with getting drafted after it) instead of being an undrafted player like in 2k10.

I'd have to think so. Elite is talking A LOT about the steps they're taking to improve their game from last season. But they were miles behind 2k10 last season, and even with all the resources EA has and the commitment they've promised, it doesn't seem like a year is nearly enough time to make up that gap.

As pointed out in the 2k article, it took the people at 2k MONTHS just to get the MyPlayer mode to recognize defensive switches in their scoring system. An awesome, but relatively small change.

I am not going to lie.  I have like 2K better for years now and I doubt it will change this year.

Having said that...the team responsible for the fantastic EA NHL series is now in charge of the NBA games.  So in 3 years time if they keep that team on the game, I would expect 2K to be in major trouble.

They have made some strides in the right direction If I like the demo I will rent the game but not buy it (glad I have gamefly so I can rent Elite).

I have been keeping my eye on Elite and they do have a few innovations.

The demo will be released this weekend or mid next week.  In the demo we will be able to replay Game 7 of last seasons Finals and unlike the 2K demo we can actually control the Celtics.

I still think even with all these animation fixes.  They need to boost up the graphics.  It is not as crisp and vibrant as 2K.

Once again not thread hijacking just letting you know what Elite changed since they havent put much in the marketing campaign.

I am a 2K guy myself.

Ya, give Elite some time and I think they could contend. But they're just too far behind right now.

2K sports does not rest on their laurels. EA Sports is a perennial front-runner. That is to say, they only run as far ahead as the rest of the pack will push them. That's why Madden has failed to significantly move forward in over a decade (I swear this is true. I would rather play Madden 04 than Madden 10.), and this is the reason why Live fell behind so far. They were outselling 2k then they got lazy. 2k made leaps and bounds each season between 2005 and 2009, now Elite has to catchup.

It will take them more than 1 year of development.

Ya I bought Madden 10 and was playing it this weekend, it's pretty shocking. I don't understand how they can make as much money as they do and still have a franchise mode that primative. Huge lack of options, and a pathetic lack of drafting logic for the cpu

Wow...I just saw the My-Player press conference thing...wow.

I wonder if you will be able to negotiate your contract.

(That is hopefully the nerdiest thing I say all week.)

My favorite part was the part where management consults you about trades when you get to a certain level. In my efforts to save Gotham in 2k10, I would've loved nothing more than to say "TRADE LARRY HUGHES"
