The nutshell version:

Boston Celtics trade:  Pierce, KG, Ray, Powe, Rondo, Perk, Pruitt, Walker, BBD

Boston Celtics receive: Blount, Curry, Kmart, QRich, Jeffries, Haslem (we needed his salary; he can play), Atkins, Cook, Joel Anthony

It kills us both in terms of talent *and* the salary cap, and improves two Eastern Conference rivals (one in our division).

I would kill someone if this happened. Easily the worst possible trade and I've already TP'd Roy.

PS. Isn't it great how the Sonics logo is still on the ESPN Trade Machine graphic?

The simpler the better (or worse in this case)
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=662~1017&teams=12~2&te=&cash=

Paul Pierce straight up for Zach Randolph. Beat that! lol

Or KG for Starbury

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=261~509&teams=18~2&te=&cash=
Anything is possible!!!

This one could be the best trade in Knicks history, while ensuring Danny Ainge could never show his face in Boston again.

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=9~3200~261~2018~662~3023~3026~362~1966~831~990~509~703~2753~3016~1018~1026&teams=5~18~30~30~18~18~5~2~18~2~2~2~5~2~2~5~18&te=&cash=

Celtics, Knicks, Cavs, and Bobcats

Celts lose: Powe, Ray Ray, BBD, Perkins, Pierce, Garnett, Rondo

Celts get: Starbury, Adam Morrison, Eddy Curry, Ilgauskas, Raymond Felton, and Wally Sczerbiak

Knicks lose: Starbury, Curry, Quentin Richardson,

Knicks get: Powe, Gerald Wallace, Glen Davis, Paul Pierce, and LeBron James

Cavs lose: Wally Szcerbiak, LeBron James, Big Z

Cavs get: Jason Richardson, Ray Allen, Rondo, Quentin Richardson

Bobcats lose: Adam Morrison, Jason Richardson, Gerald Wallace, Raymond Felton

Bobcats get: Perkins, Garnett

That leaves Boston with:

PG: Starbury, Felton, House, Cassell, Pruitt
SG: Adam Morrison, Wally World, Tony Allen, Giddens
SF: Scal, Bill Walker,
PF/C: Eddy Curry, Zydrunas Illgauskas, Patrick O'Bryant

Just look at that frontcourt. Part of the hideous nature of this trade would be the shape the Celtics bigs would be left in. This might compete with Roy. Tom Thibodeau would lay awake at night, crying, with this lineup until his contract ran out, at which point he would sprint to New Orleans.
"Let me call him," Floyd said.

The man shook his head. "O.J. doesn't give out his cell," he said. "He'll call you."

Some of these trades are giving us cap relief for 2010.   I have a 4 way trade here that will effectively ruin our cap for the next 3 to 4 years and give us no hope for 2010.

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=9~261~2018~662~3023~3026~181~841~1708~250~1024~387~881&teams=6~11~6~29~29~29~2~2~2~2~2~2~2&te=&cash=

Dallas gets Ray Allen, Kendrick Perkins

Indiana gets Kevin Garnett

Memphis gets Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo, and Leon Powe

Boston gets Antoine Walker 3 yrs 9 mil a year, Jamal Tinsley 3 yrs 6.7 mil a year, Mike Dunleavy 3 yrs 9 mil a year, Jeff Foster 3 yrs 5.5 mil a year, Marko Jaric 3 yrs 6.5 mil a year, Jason Terry 4 yrs 9 mil a year, Erick Dampier 3 yrs 11 mil a year.

So we miss out on free agents for the next 3 years and this team just might keep us afloat enough where we don't land a top 5 pick.  Awesome.  :P

Dunleavy and Forter worth their money if healthy

Yes but look at their contracts.  Even healthy we really have no shot at the playoffs but might not be bad enough for a top 5 pick in the draft.   Plus all the guys I traded for have at least 3 years left on their contracts so absolutely no cap relief for 2010.   Some of these other deals we would clear a ton of cap space within the next year or 2 and we could get good again quickly.

Trade the worst team in the league for the best team in the league. No one can beat mine.  ;)

I was about to agree, but the C's still have KG in your deal... No deal keeping KG in green can win, but you do get credit for leaving Durant in Seattle, I mean, that other place.

And I left Jeff Green, Russell Westbrook, and DJ White in that other place. They keep all of their young players and get Pierce, Allen, Rondo, Perk, and others. Other the other hand Celtics keep KG but loses everyone besides Scalabrine. This turns the Celtics into the worst team in the league and the Thunder becomes a playoff team.  ;D

I like this. There are a lot of 1 year contracts, but there are so many players coming in, that many will have to be cut. Some of the 1 years are young players anyway, and I wanted to make sure we had no young talent left. No talent means no free agents in the next few years, regardless of cap space.

We end up with:

Blount/Curry/Anthony/James/POB
Warrick/Milicic/Jeffries/Toin/Rose/BBD
Richardson/Scalabrine/Giddens
TA/House/Buckner/Pruitt
Crittenton/Banks/Jaric/Cassell

That's 22 players. We will have to cut 8. Cassell is a definite cut. Probably Anthony too. Perhaps Rose would take a buyout. James is probably a cut. I don't see anyone with trade value in the bunch we picked up. I kept Giddens since odds are he doesn't do anything in the NBA and he has 2 guaranteed years. Same for Pruitt. BBD is a free agent at the end of the season. With 22 players, they are all risks to be cut, so why trade them when we can lose money?

I could see this team being perhaps the worst in basketball.

The Blount/Curry/James combo is a dream 1-2-3 punch.

This is actually a good trade.

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=9~2018~662~1021~1966~2419~1977~635~3202~3468&teams=28~25~5~25~2~2~2~2~2~2&te=&cash=

I dont want to break up the team, but just playing around with Trade Machine its pretty sweet.

PG: Rondo/Westbrook/House
SG: Durant/Parker/Allen
SF: LeBron/ Bill Walker/ JR Giddens
PF: KG/ Varejo/ Powe
C: Bosh/ BBD/ POB

wow that would be beastly

Alright dust has settled I'll give a few TPs.

Roy, your trade was truly terrible. Congratulations, you are worthy of a TP. JBCat, you destroyed cap room at a truly Isaiah like clip. TP. GW, For loading a roster with 22 people and searching to cut 8 while sustaining monumental cap hits, you get a TP.

Terrible work all the way around... congratulations.
