Just read tony Allen might be waived as part of pelicans - bulls trade.  As a cheap pickup off the bench does he make sense to return to Boston.  Even coming off injury he is a defensive stopper who will play within a system and not force his own offense.
Anyone?

The emotional part of me says yes.  But unless his jumper magically got better overnight he's not what we need.  We're already the #1 defense in the NBA.  We need a legit bench scorer.  So unfortunately I'll have to pass.

As much as I like Tony and his defensive skills I think he is toast now so I would pass.

Tony Allen will always have a spot in my heart as part of the championship squad but I think he is toast.

Would have been interested if the makeup of our team was a bit different.  He would come off the bench - a bench that does well defensively, but struggles severely to score the ball.  If we had scorers (maybe he'd be a decent fit next to Lou Williams, but we have Smart) then it'd a consideration.

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
It will be interesting to see if he ends up in Minny with Thibs.

Me too. His offense stinks, his defense has fallen off, and he's 36.

You can only wonder how good he could have been without the injuries.
