Only a partial guarantee for Jahlil Okafor.

New Orleans is one of a few teams that still have open roster spots available. The Pelicans have 12 guaranteed contracts with veteran Emeka Okafor on a non-guaranteed salary and wing DeAndre Liggins on a partial. Good opportunity for Jahlil Okafor to make the roster.

I think we're all missing the real news here: Emeka Okafor is still playing?!?  ;D

The okafors are following each other around the league now

Always liked Emeka. Seems like a good guy. Did his job on the court. The neck injury derailed him from having a better career, but he was pretty good in his day and kept working to get back to the NBA.

Heck, he returned after missing four full seasons, got cut in training camp, went to the G-League... literally clawed his way back into the NBA and still put up pretty impressive numbers in very limited minutes (small sample size, but he posted career high rebounds per36 and nearly career highs in blocks and steals per36).

His work ethic and pure effort levels could not be further from Jahlil’s, lol.

From Nate Duncan's podcast, the partial guarantee is only 50k.

Interesting.  $50k is the largest guarantee you can get and still be eligible for a 2-way with a club.

Wow. Doesn't look good!

David West just announced his retirement.

Nice solid player who got a couple all-star games from playing with CP3 then a couple rings from playing with the Warriors. First ballot Hall of Very Good player.

Oklahoma City is using the waive and  stretch provision on final year of Kyle Singler’s contract, league sources tell ESPN.

Thunder will save $23.4M in salary and luxury tax this year on stretching Singler’s $5M salary.

Yes, this is not remotely a surprise, as next year’s salary was non-guaranteed, letting them stretch $5 million over 5 years.

Boris Diaw has retired...what a fun player, especially in his stint with the Steve Nash Suns.

Also, a very key piece of that Spurs team that beat Miami. His immediate passing decisions out of the low post made for one of the most gorgeous passing offenses I have ever seen. Just a great passing PF.

Yeah he was heftier then and not as nimble or in as big of a role but he played a key part in those beautiful 13-14 Spurs squads.
