Sam Walker's book The Captain Class makes a case for very successful teams having a captain with a certain kind of personality and we describes, very closely, Marcus Smart. If I was Brad, I'd probably make Smart the team captain.

I believe Stevens is on record as not having/naming a "captain".  He believes all 15 players can and do lead in their own way at various times and places throughout the season, in others words, he wants all 15 to aspire to leadership.

As long as Stevens is coach, there will not be a "captain" - I agree with his approach.

We should put a General Electric logo on the top left of the Celtic's jersey to signify who the captain of this team is.

I’m not sure I agree, but also I don’t think CBS is that inflexible.  If he thinks naming a captain could help, I bet he would be willing to give it a try.

I believe Stevens has never won a championship on any level.  There's always room to self-reflect and improve.

I don't see it happening as long as Stevens is coaching the Celtics after his statements on the matter.

I would agree with this

But didn't Rondo get traded for Jae Crowder half a season after he was named captain?

Yikes.  This is like Sacremento fans suggesting Boogie Cousins should have been made a captain.

You're right, should be one of the obvious leaders like Mook
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

I just don't see the need. The coach doesn't believe in captains and I am not sure anyone deserves it, certainly not players with very little tenure here and certainly not players who are not long for this team. And that is basically the whole team.

plus with how things have gone, selecting a captain would probably just make things worse.  with no obvious choice doesn't make any sense.

Personally I think Al is the closest thing we have to a team leader, but really there is no obvious choice.
