I have RPG's selection but will hold off until closer to 1:30 to give him his chance to post his pick.

Also, remember, you don't have to select which year you are using for your player until you present your roster to the league.

I'd give strong consideration to the 2012 LBJ.  I thought he was more dominant that season.  He was a monster in games 6 & 7 of the ECF against us.  Very badly needed some timely and somewhat lucky help from a teammate to win in 2013.  But I imagine you've already put a lot more thought into this than I have.

I guess I don't have to decide at the moment but I'm leaning 2013 for the 40 + % 3 point shooting
I personally prefer 2013 Bron. He combined an elite floor raising skillset with elite shooting that season, and imo it was easily his best season for drafts like these. But yeah can't go wrong either way, what a great peak.

With the second overall pick 1(2) of the 2019 CelticsStrong Historical Draft..

The Boston Celtics select...

LeBron James

Man this hurt... this is sacrilegious.

I'm going to defend this pick now because I know this will be the least popular selection of the draft. I toyed with a couple of fan favorites in this spot but this was someone I just couldn't pass up on.

I don't like him, you don't like him, but the 2013 version of LeBron James was unstoppable.

26.8 ppg, 8.0 rpg, 7.3 apg, 1.7 spg, 0.9 bpg, 56.5 % fg, 40.6% 3pfg, 75.3 % ft

League MVP, first team all defense, Finals MVP, and a title.

His versatility, athleticism, skill, and pure dominance made this a no brainer for me.

I really think if we take off our green glasses and put aside our pure hatred of the man for what he has done to our team, we can all realize he is the 2nd greatest player of all time.
He has a top 5 peak for all time players and a very special skillset, so imo it was a great pick. Will disagree with the second greatest player of all time statement though, imo Jordan and **** are still the top two.
REALLY?!?! I JUST WARNED YOU NOT TO MENTION UNDRAFTED PLAYERS.
DO NOT DO IT AGAIN!

Thanks nick, but I'll be here to select. So with pick 1(3), I select Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Debated between him and two other players, but the combination of being a huge winner and the amazing longevity, Kareem was the clear choice.

Solid points on 2013 Lebron.  The 3pt% is nothing to ignore.  I just don't think he really A) cruised easily enough through the playoffs easily that season (which would be a sign of dominance) nor B) won big games/series against marquee opponents single-handedly (in the fashion we'll see some players later drafted did) enough for a #2 overall pick.  I prefer his 2012 season where I feel like he was closer to those.

Don't let me talk you out of it though, this is just me.  I might place a higher value on postseason play than other voters.  2013 Lebron is still great.
