Please don't vote till nominations are in because I'm going to miss a bunch. Also generally no comedies like Blazing Saddles or the Cowboy Way, and no politico artsy stuff like Brokeback Mtn. And nothing with scifi stuff aimed at kids like stuff with Will Smith or Cowboys vs Aliens. And no chick flick cowboy movies like All the Pretty Horses

I'm extremely upset that Young Guns is not on your list.

One of my all-time favorite movies period.

Should we allow remakes like the new True Grit?

Thank you.  The remake had no soul.

My favorite western is The Searchers.  Cinematography is beautiful and it is John Wayne's best performance outside of a dress.

It's like picking the best Beatles album or something. It's practically impossible.

I argued with myself a bit between Magnificent 7, Open Range, and Tombstone, then decided the film I couldn't live without or just had to show someone from another planet if I could only show them one cowboy film was Magnificent 7.

So hard to pick but I'll go with Magnificent 7.

Another one not mentioned original 3:10 to Yuma.

High noon, no better movie set in the old west. And the theme song is addictive as well.

By the way, you should not vote u less you have seen at leat 10 of these flicks.  :)
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
