http://www.cnn.com/2011/10/20/opinion/granderson-spirit-day/index.htmlInteresting. Apparently today was "Spirit Day".
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spirit_DayApparently on Spirit Day you are encouraged to wear purple to show support for LGBT kids who are bullied.
I assume who are bullied as a result of being LGBT. Interesting that it's not just for all bullied kids, but that's beside the point entirely.
I'm not trying to make any political or moral statements here at all. I'm kinda soul searching, because I wore purple all day and did not realize what day it is. I wonder if people noticed it and thought something about me I wasn't aware of.
I have to ask myself if I would have worn it anyway. I'd like to think since it was for young bullied people I might have. I just didn't know.
I'm just posting it because I imagine there are others that may have worn purple and didn't realize it either.
Also purple is an interesting color to choose. I live in a place where lots of people wear purple. Local school colors and whatnot. I mean a rainbow or even pink is asking a lot of some people. So I guess purple makes sense.
I don't know. I have no answers here.
