Both are considered late 1st round picks mainly due to age (senior and junior) . Short analysis using scouting reports, games and video highlights.

Udoka Azubukie (6'11 280 pound monster)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DdPJFaQlRuY

Pros:  Monster body, chiseled, co ordinated.  Likely stronger than many NBA centers.  Decent post moves and good rebounder/shot blocker.  Covers a lot of ground. Decent passing ability
Cons: Age.  Poor shooter (40 percent at the FT line and none existent jump shot).  Moves/runs well but plays an oldschool kind of game.
Comparison: Andre Drummond

Kaleb Wesson (6'9, 270 pounds)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWp-JwercoU

Pros:  Sneaky athletic.  Good at PNR because he can shoot the 3.  Has a good BBIQ.  Good rebounder, shot blocker and passer.
Cons: Age.  A little on the pudgy side.  Needs to work on perimeter defense/quickness.
Comparison:  Al Horford

Celts may lose Theis and Kanter next season (contract).  And Robert Williams hip situation is not promising.  I like Tacko but I don't think he will be much more than a 3rd string NBA center at best.

Pending no trade or inability to sign a decent PF/C, the Celts will be left with a big hole down the middle next season.

Not saying either of these two prospects are the solution (late 1st round pick prospects).  But you have to start somewhere and start building depth.

Since the Memphis pick will probably be ours this year, I'd assume we would go for a big in the lottery. Not too knowledgeable on this years draftees, but it seems our best choices would be Dukie Vernon Carey and USC's Onyeka Okongwu, according to mock drafts.
2023 No Top 75 Fantasy Draft Los Angeles Clippers
PG: Dennis Johnson / Jo Jo White / Stephon Marbury
SG: Sidney Moncrief / World B. Free
SF: Chris Mullin / Ron Artest
PF: Detlef Schrempf / Tom Chambers / Buck Williams
C: Ben Wallace / Andrew Bynum

I never understood the obsession with drafting centers

Imagine all the centers that got drafted over all time great wings

Ayton over doncic

Darko over wade, Carmelo, And bosh

Oden over Durant

Olwakandi over Vince Carter, pierce and dirk

The new nba is all about having competent wings

centers that get drafted take a long time to assimilate. It took Tyson chandler like 10 years to have a relevant box score

Not so sure about those player comparisons. Also not sure I want Azubuike - he’s shown no improvement as a FT shooter.

Wesson could be interesting, but only with our pick / Milwaukee’s pick, neither of which we might end up keeping.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Darko was not a center

Look I get your point

But we are not talking about a top 10 pick C vs other position

These two are late 1st prospects

Celts have too many wings/guards

Drummond couldnt shoot also. Capela had troubles in the beginning

But look how they have turned out

Not saying azubuike will be even half as good. But his body and mobility is elite. Could be a worthwhile risk

ainge will do what he does each year and go after the best player available. and he is right to do so.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Yeah, you’re right - I just think one late first round project big man who can’t shoot is enough for one team

Its true. Arent you too enamored with Potential so much that you always hype up players who havent played an NBA game yet? Or want rookies to play a lot of minutes and even start? When you rely on the draft to fill your needs, you end up with a lot of unreliable players. Its fine when you do it sometimes, but a lot of you want to do this every single year! Look at our roster, its full of guys you wouldnt play in a playoff game. Which is fine if your goal is next year. But next year youd have us taking on more rookies to develop when we havent even finished develooing our current ones!

At some point you take what you have and let it grow. Not take on more than you can handle and certainly not to fill on this NEED. If you want a position filled, look for it in FA. Higher chance of getting something useful.

Now I didnt want to rant, but clearly  referee no 78 had me completely unhinged
