This is the crazy all in move if Danny thinks this team could challenge for the tittle this year. Seems like a risky move...

the article has 4 other teams basically giving up spare parts to get Griffin while Boston's expected to send an all-star in Hayward and a DPOY candidate in Smart.  takes dumb to a whole new level

I wouldn't give up either player to acquire Griffin.  only point to getting Griffin is to add him to the core we have.

Think about it from a different angle - the other teams can give up bad players because they have bad contracts. We can't because we don't. Speaks to good management but also to why it's so difficult for us to upgrade via trade.

I don't see how Blake helps us - especially in a series against LAL, PHI or MIL....and not at the expense of GH and / or Smart.

LOS ANGELES — Detroit Pistons star forward Blake Griffin will visit a specialist this week because of his ailing left knee and season-ending surgery is being considered, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

The six-time All-Star will be evaluated by a specialist in Los Angeles at some point this week, sources said.

Griffin, who has been limited to 18 games this season due to the injury, had surgery on the same knee in the offseason.

Blake has two more years for a total of $75 million left on his deal after this season ends.

The possibility of a Drummond trade is looking more and more likely.

Hopefully, it's not the C's that trade for him.

They're almost certainly going to trade Drummond, unless they get stubborn about the price for a potential half season rental.

Man. Acquiring Griffin always seemed like way too big a risk for Detroit. And here is the fallout.

I don't think Griffin would really make the Celtics better, to be honest.

I think a lot of their issues are fit (and maybe coaching).  They have a team that should pretty clearly be a playoff team the last few years (at least talent wise), yet they are very bad (and have been since they got Griffin so it isn't just his missed time this year that is the problem).  They have some real talent on that team in Griffin, Drummond, Jackson (in years past) and Rose this year, as well as some nice looking young players like Kennard and solid vets like Morris, Snell, Galloway.

And Casey is a solid coach though maybe Stan was just better.

It appears they do need to just hit the reset button and get what they can for Griffin, Drummond, Rose, and Jackson (who should be back soon) and just try to tank for a top pick this year (and next year) and add them to Kennard and see what happens.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

The Pistons have been bad to barely mediocre every year Drummond has been there. Their win totals since drafting Drummond

13 in 37 games...so on a 28 game win pace.

Bringing in Blake, Rose, Jackson, Kennard, etc hasn't made a difference. The problem with Detroit is their franchise player, Drummond, is simply not a franchise player.

It's got to be best for Detroit to break it down to almost nothing and start over hoping to land top 4 picks the next three years.

I agree. Drummond puts up numbers but is not a franchise player for a winning team. Their best bet is to move him and Drummond.

Dombouya looks promising though. Him and Wood are the two they should keep going forward , and Dombouya may end up to be a franchise cornerstone if he continues to develop.

Griffin is their franchise player.  He isn't good enough (or healthy enough) either, but he is clearly their best player.
