The most interesting part about this trade is that there seems to be confusion over which Brooks is being sent to Phoenix.Woj said its MarShon, but Suns beat reporters say it's Dillon.

Seems like a good deal for Memphis.
Adrian Wojnarowski: Sources with @Zach Lowe: Deal in jeopardy over which Brooks — MarShon or Dillon — the Suns believed it was getting in the trade. Memphis will not put Dillon Brooks in the trade, sources said. – via Twitter wojesp
What? No one wanted to trade for Scott Brooks?
The Suns had multiple conversations with the Memphis Grizzlies over the last 24 hours about Dillon Brooks - any information that the Suns had no contact with the Grizzlies and only Washington is wrong. The Suns checked medicals on Dillon Brooks.
Last thing: another source says this reached ownership, with Sarver and Grizz owner Robert Pera talking w/each other. And the name they discussed was Dillon. So: no guarantees, of course, but the smart money is on this deal getting resurrected in some form, quickly.
Sources: Suns will have Trevor Ariza away from team for Saturday's home game against Minnesota as franchise works on resolution. Suns and Grizzlies had handful of discussions recently involving Dillon Brooks -- never MarShon. For Suns/Wizards, nothing was lost in translation.
So much to unpack here, but here’s what I’ve heard... per the understanding of a league source:1. For over a week, Phoenix & Memphis had conversations re: Dillon Brooks. Phx even requested Dillon’s physical.2. Washington wanted Ariza & had convos with Phx picked up 3 days ago3. Washington and Phoenix had understanding about all players involved in trade & knew it was Dillon Brooks as part of Memphis end.4. Deal never got to official conf. call btw the 3 teams, was told deal died on MEM’s end5. “Memphis maybe got cold feet,” said the league source.
