Not sure about middle of the road. Dallas, Portland, Memphis and New Orleans will all have improved too. Lots of competition. Only Western playoff team that I see really falling away is OKC, for obvious reasons

The NBA is a zero sum game. If some teams win more, it means other teams win less.

I think Memphis and Dallas will be worse next year. Portland will be better and New Orleans will show some improvement.

Us acquiring Batum seems unlikely. That would put us over the tax line, forcing us to either trade him (the possibility of trading if fine, the need to trade him is bad), pay the tax, or stretch him (and deal with the consequences for 3 years). I think its picks to them, find a third team, or no dice
