Michael K. Williams, who memorably portrayed Omar Little in “The Wire” and Chalky White in “Boardwalk Empire,” has died at age 54. The New York Police Department confirmed to Variety that the actor was found dead today at 2 p.m. inside of his Brooklyn residence.

Williams was a regular on many acclaimed HBO series, including “The Wire,” “Boardwalk Empire,” “The Night Of” and “Lovecraft Country,” played Leonard on SundanceTV crime series “Hap and Leonard” and had a recurring role on J.J. Abrams’ “Alias.” He also acted in acclaimed films including “Inherent Vice,” “12 Years a Slave,” “Gone Baby Gone” and “The Road.”

The man was very talented at his craft.

That’s really depressing. The Wire is probably The best show I’ve ever seen. He was so talented...

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I live in a small seaport community in the East End of Long Island.  Very recently over a span of 48 hours there were 6 overdose deaths from cocaine laced with Fentanyl.  I lot of ODs occur because the drug of choice is cut with Fentanyl.  Awful.

Yeah.  It’s crazy.  The big risk used to be people taking heroin cut with fentanyl.  Now, some of my clients are using straight fentanyl.

It’s gotten to the point where the DA’s office is handing out Narcan.

It's pretty frightening stuff. Super widespread too - I remember reading about how President Duterte was abusing fentanyl (somewhat ironic given his drug laws) and thought about how odd that was. The opioid crisis is really quite scary.
