For the first time in awhile I actually believe Ainge is going to do something major on draft night.

I'm sort of the opposite. I can't envision him being able to match salaries for a legitimate vet. And I also can't see our picks somehow being combined into anything that constitutes a "splash."

I'm resigned to the fact that we'll likely draft three non-rotation players.

I believe Ainge will try but his position is not from one of power after the mass exodus from Boston. The only thing he will be able to do without getting fleeced is take a big, ugly contract off someone for future draft picks. I truly believe we bring on an albatross for a few years for more draft equity since all we have is Memphis pick in the chest.

So, expectation is albatross contract for picks...nothing more is happening. Tonight will be about gathering future picks and consolidating current for maybe a slight move up.

Does NO have an albatross? I wish they did so we can barter for that fourth. Actually, which teams are prime candidates for the dumping of their albatross?

Well of course after posted this NO pick 4 is gone. 😐

I wonder if Boston would consider trading up for Culver if he falls past 6 or so.

Wonder if Danny could move up from 14 to 5 by taking a bad contract from the Cavs

Smith's not a bad contract.  Its only ~3M guaranteed.  Its under the old CBA so it actually is 15.6M for trade purposes.

Resigned to the fact that Danny will make three picks. Let痴 hope that one or two of the guys he picks look promising enough in there first 4 months so we can trade them for Beal lol

Tristan Thompson, then?

Saves them $19 million, and we get a Center. Two birds, one stone.

He makes a ton of money.  Would be hard to get the cap space.

Danny is going to be stuck with these picks. Will be surprised if he does anything
