Jesus what are the Bulls doing?
Mirotic is pure garbage.
Mirotic for $13.5 million x 2 years or Olynyk for 12.5 million x 4 years?
I know which one i'd take. And he gets veto power. Hahhaaha garpax are a joke.
You still need to fill out a roster. Even for a team hitting tank mode.
It's still a poor deal on Chicago's part to have the second year be a team option instead of non-guaranteed in year 2, which is what gives Mirotic veto power.
Not if they have no intention of trading him.
Then they either should have just held firm at his qualifying offer or signed him to a longer deal. Paying him a lot of money for a season in which they're playing for lottery balls is a move that does little but cost them money.
My guess is Garpax still thinks they're going to win this year. Which is cute and delusional.
They are below the salary floor. They would be paying that money anyway. At least now they keep a youngish player and have an option for a second year if he hits. I would guess that second year is not non-guaranteed because Mirotic wouldn't sign a one or two year deal without the protection of the no trade clause (which he would have had with the QO). This way he gets more money next year and the team has the potential to keep him if they want for an additional season. It doesn't really seem like a bad deal to me in that context.
