Let's be honest... our draft picks this year are likely trash.  My expectations for #14 are somewhere on a scale of James young to Kelly Olynyk.  My expectations for 20 and 22 are somewhere on a scale of RJ Hunter to Jordan Mickey.  Sure, there's exceptions and occasional diamonds in the rough (Al Jefferson at #15, Rondo at #21), but we'll be lucky to get 1 rotation player out of these scratch tickets.

You could be right, but what if Ainge packages those picks and the Celts end up picking in the top 10 or top 5 of the draft?

I would like to see it happen but I doubt any team would give up a top 10 or top 5 pick for 14 20 and 22

Wow that's harsh.

Draft picks are always super important. If we can find a gem at 14, 20 or 22 that will help a lot.

I don't expect a star but I think we can get a rotation guy or two out of this draft.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Super important but not super likely to get us more than a role player, if that.  The 14th pick is far from premium.  Maybe we strike gold but have to be lucky.  No other pick, except the grizzlies pick is even worth thinking about.  We obviously need lots of luck there too.
how many players in the NBA finals this year were picked above pick 10?

Kawhi Leonard and Lowry say's "whats up" from pick 15 and 24
I think what celticelite meant was drafted from 1-9 .. which will be 3-4 out of 30 players

I'm guessing most here are aware enough of NBA drafts to know that the likelihood of a #14 a #20 or a #22 to hit big is low.  "Likely trash" may be an exaggeration as 3 chances to get a decent rotation player is probably a decent shot.   I think people here are trying to be hopeful while we all probably have a gnawing sensation that DA will need a good deal of luck to hit big on one of these picks.

But being hopeful is OK.

My latest draft craving:

14. Bitadze
20. Kabengele
22. Thybulle

Who's down with my latest inkling?

How about we trade the picks for Lonzo Ball?
The reasoning behind this move is simple :
All the important players the lakers traded or didn’t resign dramatically improved next season. See:
Brook Lopez
DLo
Randle
