Unfortunately Romeo, to me, is James Young 2.0.

Robert has some hope but I don't see his ceiling being an All Star type player, I feel like his ceiling is starter on a bad team. Potentially a 12 and 10 guy as his ceiling.

I hope I am wrong.
on langford, i assume you mean "won't work out in the nba" and not "similar players."

i disagree on langford....for now. he is very good close to the basket with his moves. and his defense is well above average for most rookies. he has nba skills.

the future, for me, is whether he becomes a basic bench player or a starter. if he can develop a good 3 point shot, he is a starter in the nba.

All of you that tout Langford skills at finishing in traffic and such... how many times have you seen him finish in traffic during a competitive nba game ?

I've seen enough that I have no reason to believe his finishing wil not turn out fine.  I don't know if it'll be great or just good, but I'm not worried based on what I've seen.  Sample size as I said was miniscule.

I'd be more concerned with his outside shooting and getting that going...no rush, but he'll need that to really blossom on the C's and avoid defensive specialist territory, though that's always handy.

I agree with you 100%.  Romeo has shown flashes.  Hard to tell about his shot with the injuries to his wrist.  We can afford to wait and see.  Some of his critics are too hasty to put the bust label on him.  Geez

I read the title as "Romney and Timelord" and was very very curious as to what this thread would contain. Was somewhat disappointed ;D

'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

I call him “Where fore art thou” Romeo as in where the heck was he during the playoffs while Herro was handing us our lunch. (I know he got hurt but even before he was a non-factor). It’s so painful that a coin toss between 12th-14th pick certainly cost is the ECF and maybe even cost us the title.

If he stays healthy, I think he'll develop into a useful player for the Cs. But that's a big if. This year has been pretty disappointing due to the injuries. I wonder if his body is up to the grind of playing in the NBA.

That's a painful what-if, for sure. Be fantastic to have him. And as much as I like Grant Wiliams, I was really hoping we'd take Brandon Clarke at 20. Coming away from last year's draft with Herro and Clarke would have been tremendous value.

That said, I'm hoping Romeo stays healthy next year and Grant turns into PJ Tucker!

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Would personally really love for Romeo to be our backup PG for the next season.

I know he still has a lot of work as far as ball handling and playmaking, but I love the idea of him being the PG for us moving forward
2019 CStrong Historical Draft 2000s OKC Thunder.
PG: Jrue Holiday / Isaiah Thomas / Larry Hughes
SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Shareef Abdur-Raheem / Ben Simmons
C: Jermaine O'neal / Ben Wallace

Yes. I’m happy with the Grant pick. Smart tough player. I’m doubtful about Romeo between his injuries and horrible shooting. It’s a shooter’s league.

He played his freshmen season hurt not to let his team down. He stayed in Indiana. He was a top recruit that fell in the lottery.Missed combine and summer league in rehab and missed part of camp.
The kid was 19years oldOn a playoff bound team having to play against and adjust to NBA length, strength and speed.

I'll go with Danny but he is shrewd and can be trade building.I love wingspan and his is a whisker away from 7 foot and it showed in highlites
My favourite was him going baseline looking trapped by a big and managing to score from what seemed under the basket off the backboard.
The jump from AAU and college is huge some of these top players coming in a young age can't play to what was a strength in high school and college.
The recalibration takes time .
Tyler Herro was thin in college and learned to play smart and tricky .He never had strength to overpower or take the contact.
Winslow ,Randle  Parker,Gordon ,Smart, Simmons to name a few.All suffered horrific injuries early and I thought these kids pushed themselves against grown men before they were ready or fully adjusted to Man Strength and rigors of a NBA season.
Like a red lining demo derby.

Romeo reminds me of Jimmy Butler in that highlight video.  Not a bad comp to strive for.

Not sure I follow your point(s) here, Rollie. Are you saying you think Romeo is going to have a better NBA career than Tyler Herro?
