Super clutch block when we couldn't buy a bucket.  Tenacious player.

Smart has been such a joy to watch ever since he got here.  Yeah I mean that even with all the games he went one for a million from the floor.

I never want to see him in another jersey.

Marcus Smart on a team with a Kawhi or Durant.. That'd be really scary.

Yeah sure but at this point, Kawhi or pre injury Durant (and Lebron but hes aging) is a still level higher.

Top 40 player for the last couple of seasons with an argument for making an All-Star game going forward on this Celtics squad (his situational value is amplified in the Celtics offence as a supercharged 3 and D playmaking guard). He's a fantastic player!
Anyone who's still going to call him a rich man's Patrick Beverley?
Jaylen Brown for All-NBA

That block was very reminiscent of LeBron on Iggy (not as big a stage, obviously)

We all love Smart's defense and grit, giving up the body, etc.  A lot of us were saying that if he could just shoot more consistently he would be gold.  That has happened now.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Won't that essentially be the Celtics in 2-3 years?

Seems I remember lots of people being happy we signed Marcus to a mid-level $$ contract because he would be a good fit in a trade package. Not to pat myself on the back or talk about what a basketball genius I am, laffs, but I have always said let's put #36 in the rafters one day because this guy is a Celtic. Time to make him permanent Captain. He is Paul Silas + Cedric Maxwell + Dennis Johnson all rolled into one player.

Not me. I have shot trade ideas for Jaylen (my true love), Tatum, IT, Baynes, Al.. NEVER Marcus. NEVER.

Dude is the most important guy on the roster. By a mile.
