In before Tarheels mentions Lorelai Gilmore, lol ;D.
Lol. I was just fixin' to reply in this thread. Aaabsolutely Lorelai Gilmore!
Katie Bowman from Colony would be terrific, too.
And if I knew I had a short amount of time left, I'd bask in all the crazy of Claire Underwood from House of Cards.
-
Hermoine Lodge...total smoke show
-
Mrs. Brady. In a few more years I'll be old enough for Edith... 8)
-
Some of the ones not mentioned that would definitely be tops on my list:
Joan from Mad Men
Michonne from Walking Dead
Jess from New Girl (they got married in the end!)
Jennifer from Perfect Strangers
Lois Griffin from Family Guy
April from Parks & Rec
Lily Munster from the Munsters
Caroline Ingles from Little House on the Prairie

-
Elizabeth Montgomery in black and white Bewitched.
Whitney Blake from Hazel
Wibur’s wife on Mr. Ed
Barbara Eden (I dream of Jeanie)
Mary Tyler Moore in Dick Van Dyke Show
Wait a second.....was Mary married on the show? This is TV wives, not TV women. Can't just pick anyone.
Oh wait. I think I remember she was married in that last episode now.
-

You’d have to be a masochist. I will say, though, that she loved her family unconditionally on the show. Loyalty is underrated.
-
Mrs. Brady. In a few more years I'll be old enough for Edith... 8)
Edith get me a beer, would ya.
-
I Dream of Jeannie Show
She was close to a wife anyway...
Barbara Eden
I think they did get married at some point. Though the doting genie wife was somehow not quite as dreamy as the subservient genie slave.
-

How would you like to be able to tell your wife ....and she HAS to obey you always .....HA Ha ...go to your bottle if she becomes bothersome. LOL ..... i could get alot,of hot water if my wife just read this.

Is that the exact opposite premise as Bewitched?
I wonder if you could even have a show like I Dream of Jeanie anymore on network tv
-
Lagertha of Vikings...
Aaaahhhhh.
Count me in on that!
-
Desperate Housewives? Throw a dart. Eva Longoria......drops the mic....
-
Elizabeth Montgomery in black and white Bewitched.

I believe you're thinking about The Mary Tyler Moore show. She was married to Dick Van Dyke on his show, before hers. Laura Petrie married to Rob. I know, because that was going to be my choice.
-
Hmmm, tough call here. taking into account the wife's personality somewhat. my limited exposure to TV shows in the past 10-15 years
- Barbara Eden from I dream of Jeannie --> I mean, come on, how can you not?
- Kaley Cuoco from Big Bang Theory
- Marcia Cross from Desperate Housewives (oh, so hot)
- Jessica Pare from Mad Men
- Sofia Vergara from Modern Family
- Candice Patton from the Flash
- Melissa McCarthy from Mike and Molly (major, major crush on her)
- Katie Mixon from American Housewife
- Victoria Principal from Dallas
(don't know if I can count my 2 real long time crushes Jaclyn Smith and Lynda Carter because even though they weren't married on TV I was ready to pop the question for them even in my youth ;D )
-

Oh yeah. I totally forgot the Dick Van Dyke Show. Excellent pick
-
The irony is that this thread didn't start from me liking a TV wife. It started from me watching a show and thinking "That character drives me nuts." So maybe the next thread will be "Which TV wife drives you nuts."
-

ooopppssss .......
Anna Torv is out then :(
I replace her with Ilithyia from Spartacus
-
Ginger...Mary Ann...Ginger...Mary Ann
So many choices
Woah woah. Not TV wives.
Also you guys can be hilarious with your animation choices.
We all know the animation hierarchy is
#1 Betty Rubble
#2 Jane Jetson
everyone else
-

I greatly prefer Patricia Heaton's character on Everybody Loves Raymond to her character on the Middle.

not necessarily -- Lois Griffin is pretty hot and stands to inherit a load from her parents. Maude Flanders had it going on too.
-
Vintage Peggy Bundy was very sexy in a way.
Seconded
-
I am a little old school.
Samantha Stephens (Elizabeth Montgomery, Bewitched)
Second choice is Laura Petrie (Mary Tyler Moore).
-
-Trudy Campbell - Mad Men
-Debra Barone - Everybody Loves Raymond
-Polly Cooper - Major Dad
-Jane Mancini - Melrose Place
-

-Jane Mancini - Melrose Place
someone said Betty Draper earlier. Trudy Campbell is a significantly better option than Betty Draper. Megan Calvet too. Draper is just chain smoking ice queen.
-
Lily Aldrin - How I Met Your Mother.
A wife that will allow me to hang out at bar, lets me have a lap dance with a stripper that looks like her, and would just be full on supportive the rest of the way? I'm sold. Plus, she's a redhead. NICE!
Although, I might not like the sharing the toothbrush thing...

Too many to choose from...I'll just stick with Marrying Catwoman from Batman.

That is a good one and I think hits the real premise of what this thread should be.
Monica Geller Bing came to mind for me immediately. I think she might have been a little too neurotic for me, but if I could get past that (or find it cute), she would have been a great wife. Cooks, cleans, lets me hang out with friends, has her own career, wants children and is good with them, etc.
-
I Dream of Jeannie Show
She was close to a wife anyway...
Barbara Eden
Need money ? She just blinks all you need. LOL
I believe that Jennie and Tony got married at some point on that show.
-
Mrs. Hart
And if I'm lacking drama in my life...
Laura (GH)
-
Claire Huxtable.
-
I greatly prefer Patricia Heaton's character on Everybody Loves Raymond to her character on the Middle.
Yes, very underrated...good choice.
-
I know it's wrong, but, can I marry Mindy?
-
I'm going with the wife from Bewitched. She was beatiful, had magical powers, and was good to her husband. What more could you want? The mother-in-law would be a drag though.
-
Dolly Parton :P
-
Cersei Lannister
-
Cersei Lannister
Ouch....
-
Cersei Lannister
Arguably the worst pick in here. Hopefully you’re joking, such a terrible character (and not my cup of tea aesthetically).
Khalisi on the other hand.... she’s my pick.
-
Cersei Lannister
Ouch....
Come on she's the best so far. For like 15+ years she let her husband sleep with other women and drink nonstop. Even when he got fat and was abusive she stayed with him. Add if /when her husband was in debt he borrowed millions from her rich daddy. Cersei #1
-

He had enough kids with other women, what's a few step kids.. She did him a favor ending things after his prime past he was a fighter and when he left was still strong and adventurous. That's love

Kaling or Mork's?
No...and Yes...but dang it, Mark Harmon beat me to it.
:)
-
I am a little old school.
Samantha Stephens (Elizabeth Montgomery, Bewitched)
Second choice is Laura Petrie (Mary Tyler Moore).
If Samantha Stephens still has her same mother, no way.
-
3. Bernadette Rostenkowski-Wolowitz from Big Bang Theory
Absolutely not.
14 Claire Huxtable on the Cosby Show
Can't even stand to watch that show on re-runs, now, so no.
Daphne from Frasier for me ;D
I hate Frasier Crane ;D.
Jess from New Girl (they got married in the end!)
YES - TP. She's awesome.
Desperate Housewives? Throw a dart. Eva Longoria......drops the mic....
At the time of that show - absolutely. TP.
Hmmm, tough call here. taking into account the wife's personality somewhat. my limited exposure to TV shows in the past 10-15 years
- Kaley Cuoco from Big Bang Theory
Absolutely not. Cannot stand women like her.

someone said Betty Draper earlier. Trudy Campbell is a significantly better option than Betty Draper. Megan Calvet too. Draper is just chain smoking ice queen.
Alison Brie - YES. TPs for the both of you.

While I never watched more than a season or two of that show, Lily was always my favorite character on the program, by far. Never understood all of the commotion about Robin when Allison Hannigan is/was...smuldering ;) ::) ;D *groan*.
Not sure that I agree about the bar and stripper parts of your description, tho, lol ;D, but TP, anyway :) ;D.

God, no.
Claire Huxtable.
Sigh.
Cersei Lannister
Arguably the worst pick in here. Hopefully you’re joking, such a terrible character (and not my cup of tea aesthetically).
Khalisi on the other hand.... she’s my pick.
Lol ;D. I'm certainly down for Daenerys, tho ;D. Ygritte and Margaery Tyrell aren't exactly bad choices, either, btw, imo ;).
-
Gloria(Sophia Vergara) = Modern Family
-
No way am I picking a GoT wife. Chances are 100% that either she or I (or both) die prematurely.
-

much different now than when she was just dating Leonard. I'll take her gladly as I would any of the others I listed
-
-Trudy Campbell - Mad Men
-Debra Barone - Everybody Loves Raymond
-Polly Cooper - Major Dad
-Jane Mancini - Melrose Place
Debra barone would be the LAST one on my list .
Devorce after one day!

Couples have a very short shelf life in GOT!

While I don't think she was a tv wife I think this actress actually held a patent
-
I just went through a bizarre and unexpected rabbit hole because I admire Mrs. Ingals on Little House on the Prairie. But if you go to the wiki TV series and you start poking around you end up linking to the actual historical people, and there's the child TV stars ...like Jason Bateman played a boy adopted after his parents were crushed by a wagon wheel....and oh man. This is a lot of work and stuff.

Claire Huxtable on the Cosby Show
Can't even stand to watch that show on re-runs, now, so no.
Because you disliked the show originally, or because Bill Cosby is a terrible deviant?
I think the Cosby Show is one of the best family programs of all time, and it's shattering that the lead is such a disgusting criminal. Claire Huxtable, the fictional character, is an admirable woman.

I would put up with that woman's mother for her, even when she says "Hello Fatso!"

I tried watching an episode a few months ago. Can’t watch it without focusing on how vile Bill Cosby was. It was my absolute favorite show growing up.

to continue old schooling: Jenny, from the Jefferson's. She counts because she eventually married Lionel. Actress name Berlinda Tolbert.
I'd rather not google...so I'm wondering if by memory any old schoolers can recall:
-any of Barney Miller's characters having wives and if we ever saw them.
-the wife/mom from the Partridge Family and from Eight is Enough
And i think I liked Gabe Kaplan's wife (Welcome back Potter)...if I'm remembering correctly.

I have the same problem with Charlie Rose, which really sucks because he had so many great guests on that program. Sigh. Maybe I'll just hold my nose the whole time? Or vomit, afterwards? Or both? Probably not ;D.
-
I don't even have to think. Tami Taylor from Friday Night Lights.
-
June Cleaver used to be ideal, but I wonder how she’d translate to 2018? I see her having a nervous breakdown, divorcing Ward, going back to school and becoming a Women’s Studies major.

Feldon. Not related to Raymond.

Marge Simpson.

That is the TV wife that started this whole thread. I can't stand her

Morticia Addams from the Addams Family
-
My buddy picked Jill Taylor from Home Improvement
