Starting a G-League Season thread, much like the existing NBA Season thread, for random observations - not sure if this is allowed, if not mods please delete

Just watching some G-League highlights, noticed a couple of past Celtics. Their games have actually grown a bit:

1. RJ Hunter - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_vHcjuZ7UPg - shot is more compact. His quick trigger 3's at the end of this video look Buddy-Hield-like.
2. James Young - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WAGJnro41Bs - his first shot was quite interesting. His slashing and shot creation appears slightly more refined. Always thought if he could develop an in-between game, like his first shot, he could be roster worthy.

Both players appear to be driving a lot more, too.

i guess this is the right thread.

first game of the season and the claws slaughtered delaware, 148 to 122 with a minute or so left.

romeo, tacko, and waters all looked good in the stat department.

romeo 32 minutes, 27 points,  5 rbs, 2 assists, and SIX blocks. 2 for 6 from 3 point range.

Waters, 27 minutes, 28 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 steal. 7 for 11 on three pointers.  :o

Tacko, 25 minutes, 13 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 blocks. only 3 fouls as well.

This is probably the most talented G-league team the Red Claws has assembled.

Romeo 8-9 from 2.

Interesting that MRC scored 37 in all 4 quarters.

I quit watching at the end of the 3rd, and Waters was like 3-9 from the field. He must've hit 6 or 7 3s in the 4th.

etnc, from what you saw how did romeo look? i only saw the tail end of the game. and yes, waters was on fire from 3 point land.

I did not like how Romeo looked off the ball.  Did not stay involved in the play if he didn’t have the rock.  He was stationary or simply walking, was neither looking to be passed to nor ready for it with his hands.

I’m sure he can get away with that in the G League, but in the NBA the scouting will tell teams to leave him if he doesn’t have the ball, creating effective 4-on-5 situations.

I mean, that was one of the knocks on him pre-draft. But the fact that he was great on ball on offense and made so many defensive plays is a good sign. He still needs work with his habits.

It took James Young years to have a game like that in the g-league.

I thought Young was very good in the g league right away.

Kinda hard to tell what’s going on in a game that ends 148-125. Sounds like the all-star game, with no defense played.

Our D was pretty good IMO. Spurs were hitting 3s like crazy from their great ball movement. We would hold them down for almost an entire shot clock but they would hit the 3 after a million passes we forced, but they do that well and it's hard to beat the ball with movement like that. The only times I thought the 3 defense was bad was a few times when Grant/someone overhelped and didn't get back to contest in time.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Was talking about the red claws game — tho it’s true the score in the spurs game wasn’t all that much lower!

Red Claws got hot from three. The opponent score wouldve been lower but it was early garbage time and the opposing team hit a bunch of threes.q

Some yummy 3's from Romeo late in the 2nd quarter.

Tacko got lost on defense a couple of times and was slow to react.
