http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/246393/Suns-Discuss-Trading-No-4-Pick-For-Jimmy-Butler-Paul-George-Porzingis

Quote
The Phoenix Suns have interest in trading the No. 4 overall pick in a package for an "established star".

The Suns have had conversations with the Indiana Pacers on Paul George and Chicago Bulls on Jimmy Butler. Phoenix has also reportedly discussed a Kristaps Porzingis trade with the New York Knicks.

The Suns have two incoming future first round picks from the Miami Heat that they can use in a trade package.
Luckily, we have the better pick in the Butler and Porzingis pursuits, which is definitely big since both teams are reportedly wanting Jackson, which we dictate right now.

The Suns would have some balls to trade number 4 to Indy for George knowing that he's most likely a goner. I see no way he stays there.

If we let the Suns out bid us on Porzingis it would be absurd.

With all of these teams allegedly obsessed with Jackson, as you suggested in the other thread, we can block Phoenix from making any of these deals.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

They want #4 and Booker.

Suns are NOT trading away Booker too haha.

Yeah, even with Booker added I think we could still outbid them if we wanted.

I don't think it comes to that, though, because with the teams wanting Jackson, we hold all of the leverage having the pick before Phoenix.

Why on earth would the Suns trade #4 for one year of Paul George? And why isn't the deal done yet?

I guess the "discussions" with Indy could be separate and apart from their attempt to land somebody with #4, but that's not what is implied.

doesn't make sense

If there was an offer from the suns, I highly doubt it was such a valuable pick

Yeah I think no way the Pacers say no to that.

For the same reason said team would sign three point guards.

Here we go...

It's time for Danny Ainge to get outbid by another team with less valuable assets yet again.

Lakers will get George,  Suns will steal Porzingis or Butler,  and Boston will do nothing until free agency...at which point Blake Griffin and Gordon Hayward will re-sign with their current teams and Boston will overpay in free agency for s some non-star because everybody else will be gone.

Calling it now,  hoping and praying Danny proves me wrong.
