Vučević doesn't make us better, we give 3 players that fit us better for an expiring contract.
Vooch's next deal is closer to 7 than 25 million annually and I'd run away from his next deal like a devil from the incense.
Don't get seduced with big stats on a poor team guys.

Sorry, but the deal is beyond unacceptable.

I like the deal. Good proposal.

However, I wouldn't do it. I would stay put and focus on making a huge deal with New Orleans for Holiday and Davis this summer. We probably need every bit of salary for matching purposes.

And I think Ojeleye can be a useful rotation player, when Tatum (and Morris) leave in that case.

About the luxury tax, I hope we're going to pay that kind of money anyways if we make a trade for Davis and go all-in. The Celtics would be the clear favourites to win the title then and the franchise deserves to take advantage of their superb management of the roster and the culture they built.

My dream scenario:

1. Hayward $32,700,690
2. Irving $32,700,000 (cap projected to be $109 million, 8-year veteran --> 30% of the cap)
3. Holiday $26,131,111
4. Davis $25,434,263
5. Smart $12,553,471
6. Brown $6,534,829
7. Baynes $5,453,280
8. Theis $5,000,000
9. Williams $1,937,520
10. Ojeleye $1,618,520
11-15 minimum contracts total around $7,000,000

For a total of about $157 million on salaries + $63,75 million luxury tax = $221 million payroll.

How epic would this rotation be:

Irving/Smart
Holiday/vet min
Brown/Hayward
Davis/Ojeleye
Baynes/Williams/Theis

I just don't see adding Holiday. 52 million total? Who are we trading Al and Hayward?

Looks like Tatum and Horford (and probably picks, and Morris walks) in this scenario.   :(

why would we need Holiday and why would we want him at SG?

My dream team line up:

Irving/Vet min
Smart/Brown
Tatum/Hayward
Davis/Morris
Horford/Baynes

Sending a sign and traded Rozier with our 4 first round picks for Davis.

So Rozier signs for 22 million per year? Ouch

Yeah, that will work caps wise..... Are you kidding us, it will have to take assets and matched cap space to get Davis.   Say " hi" to the Easter Bunny for us though, while you're in dream land.

The problem is that you can't match salaries that way. In any trade for Davis we need to include either Hayward, Horford, Smart or do like a 6 for 1 trade. It's simply not theoretically possible to get the roster you suggest.

If Rozier goes out in a sign-and-trade, 50% of his future salary counts as outgoing for the Celtics and 100% of it as incoming for the Pelicans. So a lot of salary has to be filled in. Of the 3 players mentioned I absolutely don't want to give up Smart. I think Hayward may have negative trading value and Horford's role is diminishing anyway with the arrival of Davis, so for me it's an easy choice. But Horford makes 30 million next year, so adding him (to the outgoing assets, in my case Tatum and Rozier + Yabusele) means we need to take some extra salary from the Pelicans on our part.

We could take Moore or Hill, but I would try to pry away Holiday and give up the picks the Pelicans want. They will ask for our full treasure chest of picks. Let them have it, but then we get Holiday who has a great partnership with Davis.

hope you all love Brown .   Because i m sure NO will never part with AD for less than Tatum , Rozier and picks .

Lakers will offer Hart and Ingram and all,the future picks they have though 2050 .

I'm willing to that.

I'll give up Tatum, Rozier, Yabusele, Sac pick, '19 Boston pick, LAC pick, Memphis pick if New Orleans gives up something additional (I want Holiday) to Davis as well.

I think the Lakers would have to offer Ball, Hart, Ingram and Kuzma to beat that. And the Lakers have to consider their future when James retires, then they would only have Davis with not much else.

I don't like it at all. In today's NBA much rather have

Horford, Tatum, Morris, Smart, Irving
Vs
Vuc, Horford, Tatum, Smart, Irving

Also still keeping Semi, Rozier and a pick some people wanted to add is huge. No way I'd do this trade. Also with a healthy Theis and Baynes you wouldn't need another big on the team. Most NBA teams play small in crunch time or when down Vuc isn't a need.

Nice idea

I do not think trading the best shooter in the NBA this season is a nice idea, for a team that struggles to shoot.
