After Boston and Brooklyn swung their big trade, the Nets became famous for signing RFAs to big offer sheets.

It might be the Celtics turn at that game this summer, with chatter building that Malcolm Brogdon, Thomas Bryant and Tomas Satoransky are potential targets.

Disclaimer - it's Keith Smith. But this wouldn't surprise me, even though I'm not sure how "gettable" any of these guys really are as restricted free agents.
I think a worst case scenario is Thomas Bryant and Tomas Satoransky.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz

I'm not really interested in Satoransky, like at all. He'll be 28 before next season starts and will be significantly overpaid.

Bryant is interesting, though with Timelord already on the roster I'm not sure I'd pay him what he's going to make. I think Timelord's ceiling is higher, and he'll be significantly cheaper over the next three years.

Brogdon is the only one of the three that would be worth pursuing, though Milwaukee won't let him go and they'll likely have to overpay him to keep him. He may get close to $20M, which probably isn't worth it for him.

Still think the most likely scenario is something like trading for Adams and resigning Rozier (ugh). And, truth be told, with better chemistry, more room to strut their stuff for the Jays, and a full season post-injury for Hayward, I truly think this team could end up better than last year's team. That would not surprise me in the least.

If we’re going to make offers to restricted free agents a la the Nets, we should be targeting Porzingis.

I think Dallas probably matches any offer considering they just traded for him (despite all the bad publicity that's followed Porzingis since the trade.)

NOT A RUMOR BUT SPECULATION (sorry, but just wanted to share)

Skip Bayless says it's possible Durant would consider joining the Celtics, though admits it's a long shot

Wait, Skip's theory is that KD would *team up with Kyrie* in Boston? I'd be interested to hear how that cap room works.

Probably some sign & trade scenario? Even though they're very rare

Either that or Durant opts-in, only for the Warriors to deal him to Boston for Hayward.

On another note, Durant is reportedly furious with the Warriors as he feels he was misled about his injury. Regardless of where he ends up, he is so gone from Golden State.

Bryant and Satoransky would be a great great get. And it would really ripple the wizards as well. That would be fun.

Satoransky is criminally underrated. Great player, can play pg or sg and would make a great compliment to Smart/Brown/Langford at that position.

Bryant is a beast in the making. a beast.

For certain they do.  But if the Celtics move Yabusele and can get up to the rookie max while keeping Rozier’s cap hold, you make Dallas match a deal that’s less team friendly (3 years with a player option, full trade kicker, etc.).  Brooklyn didn’t offer RFA contracts to players they ultimately signed — they offered contracts that got matched and the team matching ultimately regretted.  Overpaying Thomas Bryant wouldn’t be a Brooklyn move.  Maxing Porzingis would be.  Heck, if they miss out on a max free agent, maybe they do it with Porzingis this summer themselves.

We should be doing whatever it takes to get a meeting with KD. A sign and trade for him is more than possible, if he was interested. It also keeps Kyrie and Al.

I know Brogdon is a popular target on this site (and rightfully so), here's an interesting tidbit on how far Milwaukee would go to match any offer sheets.
https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2019/06/free-agent-rumors-dedmon-birch-beverley-brogdon.html

Despite a history of foot issues that could limit his value to some extent, the Bucks are “bracing” for a big offer sheet for Malcolm Brogdon, per Lowe. If Brogdon gets a deal in the range of $20MM+ per year, Milwaukee may have to decide between becoming a taxpaying team or letting him go.

If you're the Celts and Brogdon is a player you absolutely covet, do you make him an offer that Milwaukee probably won't match? (as they'll probably be maxed out, likely re-signing Middleton)

I will admit, Brogdon/Brown/Hayward/Tatum/(insert FA center) is a team I can get behind.
