Knicks (1-1) at Celtics (2-1) Preseason Game #4 10/17/23

I don't know, it is hard to draw conclusions when playing the Knicks second and third units.  The overall defense was not that good.  I get that the starters or core rotation needed to get their work in and I guess they accomplished that.  Overall though, I don't think they played great.  Just jacking up 3s (52 attempted).  Gave up 14 ORebs.

As to the bench rotation, Hauser, Pritchard, and Kornet got the main minutes with the core unit.  Brissett got some late minutes but didn't do much.  Not sure why Banton is getting minutes, maybe they are showcasing him.

Banton has some unique skills. I think they are interested in developing him. He's still only 23 and Brad likes to trade his picks so we need to pick up cheap prospects.

Showcasing him for what?  He’s not trade eligible until December, and even then has no value.

Plus Horford. In other words, very little change from last year except the addition of Horford to the bench. Zero minutes for Stevens, Svi or JD.
