Thanks for update. Tacko has been watching Kanter!

In truth, he looks better than in pre season. I think a big part of it will be confidence.

Waters had 18 points after the first quarter. Then he decided to stop scoring and start distributing. If he were 3-4 inches taller I think he would have gone top 10 in the draft. A lot of smarts and talent there.

They're back and they are pinching butt one more time. The battling crustaceans win again, 107 to 103 against Salt Lake City.

Here is the tale on our baby Celtics:

Waters
38 minutes, 17 points, 4 assists, 2 rebounds. Not a good night shooting for Tremont, 5-14 and 1-5 from three point land.

Edwards
30 minutes, 14 points, 3 assists, 3 reboudns. He shot poorly... 6-14 and 0-6 from far away.  :P

Fall
23 minutes, 14 points, 10 rebounds, with 2 blocks. 1-2 FT.

Watch Tacko's video against SLC. He actually displays a couple of offensive moves. He is developing to be at least a bit more than a dunker.

Sigh. All good things must come to an end....I suppose. The direction of the pinching was reversed as the Claws lost to Long Island 111 to 102.

In the tale of our baby celtics:

Waters
25 minutes, 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists. A merely so-so evening for him.

Edwards
40 minutes, 33 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. Very nice.  He shot 11 for 27 with 4-9 from three point range.

Fall
22 minutes, 16 points, 14 rebounds with 2 blocks. He was 8-8 from the field but  0-2 in FT. This is becoming quite the typical night for him.

Will Edwards ever hit half of his shots in a G League game?  As happy as I am with Waters, I’m just as down on Edwards right now.

I’m right there with you. I thought he’d bring legit shooting to the league...

Maybe one day

well, in terms of his 3 point shooting, in the nba Arsen is shooting 30.5%, 18 for 59. that is really too small a sample to judge him by. and besides even a small variation would create a big difference in such a sample size.

for example, if he had made 3 more 3 pointers he shooting percentage from 3 point range would be 35.6%, which is fine for a rookie.

let's be patient with a second round pick and see whether he can develop.

Oh yeah, you don’t have to tell me twice. I just had high hopes for his ability to contribute immediately based on his age & college ability, plus his preseason showing.

I still think he can turn into a Jason Terry type bench scorer

Except there is the problem that at the G League level, Edwards still struggles from three. He is 20-74 at 27% from three in 9 games. Between the 2 league's that's 38-133 or 28.3%.

That is a decent size sample. Right now, he simply is not a good three point shooter and it doesn't appear his shooting is trending up as the year goes along, like say Grant Williams is doing with his three point shooting.

I had high hopes for Edwards but to this point, the warts in his game are really showing. I am hoping he turns things around. This team could use an Eddie House type guy off the bench and I thought Edwards could be that type of guy.

yet in 108 college games he shot 37% from 3 point range and often defenses would focus on him as the primary offensive threat. i simply dont know whether he will pan out as a 3 point shooter in the nba.

but i do think it is too soon to pass judgement.

Different length shots. Better defenders in the NBA. Much faster game. It happens. Wasn't RJ Hunter supposed to have been a good 3 point shooter who's shot didn't transfer over to the pros? It happens.

I'm not declaring him a bust, but I haven't seen that he offers much more than to be a bench scorer at this level, but he would need to be a +38% to be considered good enough to warrant that type of role. He isn't close to that in the pros. I am hoping that the game slows down for him eventually and he can become that nice, spot up, 3 point draining, off guard this team needs for him to be.
