An Ode To Kyrie, Or, A Hater Laments - By IP

Kyrie was a dude, who hated the light,
He had handles for days but no heart to his fight.
He led like he talked, hot air and theory,
And got big mad at common press box queries.
Can't keep his word can't keep his fans
Can't win on his own so he and Kevin made plans
And that's all fine and good and we all wish them well
And we actually hope that his year goes to hell.

To Kyrie:

Awesome stuff, IP!

Lost all respect I had for that guy. To me he is in the same category of clown all stars along Howard, Harden, DAJ, Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, Drummond, Simmons etc. Plenty of talent but clowns w/h rings.... Hard to tell if he will repeat the terrible season he had with us, because he obviously quit, but I do not expect them to win anything together those two...

Having Kyrie on my favorite sports team was, by and large, an unpleasant and dispiriting experience.

Some of his dribble moves and layups were really awesome in the traditional sense of the word.

I wanted to believe in Kyrie.  I wanted to get on board with him being the franchise guy.  I wanted to believe it would work.  I was ready to accept him as the long term guy.

It didn't work out.

I'm so glad it's over.

He's somebody else's problem now.

I'm not interested in odes.  Kyrie handled his time in Boston badly.  It is without question a negative mark in his career, no matter what he goes on to accomplish in Brooklyn or wherever else he goes.

Thankfully it's done and we can move on.

BWAHAHAHAH  you never wanted to believe anything positive about kyrie. go sell tat snakeoil elsewhere pal. we are all filled up here now. bye!
LET'S GO CELTICS!

No odes from me. He’s a beta, a flake, and a quitter.  Good player, but he never accomplished anything here.

The dude could have won titles here. There was a path to greatness, but he self-sabotaged it.

You can go back and read any number of posts I made in Year 1 of the Kyrie experience where I was at least cautiously optimistic.

At this point I'm not interested in litigating who believed what and who was right, blah blah.  I think the answers are clear and undeniable, anyway.

It's over, we move on.

I mean, the thread is a response to a post on the main site, so you could ask "How long is the media going to continue to run with the story of how Kyrie totally screwed up his time in Boston?"

The answer is: a while, because those stories will be getting clicks until some new story comes along (probably the start of the next regular season).

...in short;  I was really happy when we signed Kyrie, and I was just as happy to move on. 🤔

But how in the world has the dialogue turned to JUST KYRIE when it's already been noted that the coach and other issues were at play?

How odd that the narrative is "JUST" Kyrie.

And PLEASE stop the mess of "Well, he's the Star." So was Big Al, and he's going to join Embiid and dominate alongside him - all over probably a few million dollars that Danny wouldn't ante up.

KYRIE is the main culprit. To whom much is given much is expected.

Says some on this blog.

I thought the coach was the leader..

You SPREAD peanut butter - not just drop it on one spot of the bread...

There is PLENTY of peanut butter to spread around, here..

But just like Rondo and Antoine some of us want to make ONE fall guy.

You know - a SMALL part of me is looking forward to seeing Kyrie and Durant go off versus BOS in the next few years...I am certain that some of this fanbase will have fits about that.

The level of hate here is simply off the Richter scale...

Signed - Diehard Boston Celtics fan...always have been - always will be.

What did Brad say about the season he had?

He said "I could have done better."  (paraphrasing)

What did Kyrie say?

"I should have shot more."

"I don't owe anybody #!#$"

etc.

See the difference?

And you can't find ONE good thing Kyrie did this season...one good thing he said or did?

Why is this like pulling teeth for some of us? I don't like the dentist either but C'MON man......
