Mayo, West not Ainge's fault. Mayo had a choice. The West deal went through, really hurt me.
Young and Blatche were headcases at the time. Justifiable. I guess.
Young, Blatche...would Doc have given them what they needed to thrive? Darko?
Could Jamal Crawford be on a systematic offense and still have the success he's having? The Jet has become moderately successful.
What if Lee or someone outperforms them? Are their performances sustainable?
Lee is proven. Contributed during a long playoff run. Young vet.
Neither Blatche nor Young can be considered as such and those were the gambles Ainge could have made and had a choice.
Although that's not to say Ainge is infallible.
Gave up Ryan Hollins.
Signed Stiems to a one year deal only as the NBA stat geek pointed out. Although he also pointed out that most GM's make the same mistake of not signing them to more.
You could argue he rushed to sign Collins.
You could also argue he was impatient in getting Jajuan Johnson. Quite a few good players after Jajuan could have been taken.
Also, not moving up for Faried.
I did not intend on making this point...but I guess this kind of shows how you can't really hover around your mistakes too much. Hindsight is 50/50. Ainge could have done a lot of things wrong too but he didn't.
Edit: but I guess Collins has kind of come back to the ground after starting off hot this season.
