Can’t lose those games if u are contending for a title..before season I said bout 5 or 6 best team in East and looking like I’m going be right unfortunately..hopefully they can turn it around but Danny got to start with this bad bench that we have
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark

It's a good thing that this early in the season we're already seeing the flaws of the Celtics.

Trade deadline is 3 weeks away.

We need a real star and a leader. Maybe Beal can be that player.
Hopefully Smart plus young assets does it!
I think Smart has to go (matching salaries) . He is too volatile and that can cost us dearly in close playoff games.

I mean this isn't true? Plenty of contending teams have bad stretches.

I am worried about their recent decline, but the real mark of the better teams is that they bounce back not that they never have the down stretch.

I have no idea what to expect tonight.

I expect the Bucks to come out on fire as its a National TV game and the Celtics are the one of 6 teams they've lost to.

The Bucks are likely to win because they are the best team in the league and the C's aren't playing great right now. Hopefully the C's bring better effort, but even if they do that doesn't mean they won't get beat.

Boston isn't a contender, but contenders lose these type of games all of the time.

I mean Toronto lost all 3 times they played Detroit last year, got blown out by the Magic twice, lost to Charlotte twice, etc.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Yes contenders beat the good teams consistently. We have done ok against the top teams so far but not great. It always feels annoying to lose to sub .500 teams

I’d rather see the team concentrate on beating the bad teams, than worry about “load management” when playing them. Or somehow manage the mentality of the players better on a back to back, when the first night is against a bad team and the second game is against a playoff contender (76ers or Bucks). On those back to back nights, I’d rather see the team go 1-1 than 0-2. Let’s face it, there are far more bad teams than good teams.

Speaking of back to back's, why have the Celtics played the 76ers twice on the second night of a back to back this season. Now its the Bucks tonight. Who made up this schedule?

The Celtics are a half game out of 2nd in the East and have been 2nd for most of the year.  It doesn't look like you're going to be right at all, no offense.

The league has asked teams to give rest days at home and not on national tv games to avoid fines/scrutiny. Tatum's day off due to a sore knee fits those two criteria, sitting him against the Bucks would cause some TNT/ESPN outrage cycle noise.

(plus I'm sure Tatum would rather play against the best team in the league on TNT when he is striving to make an all-star case)

I agree.  There doesn't appear to be a real leader on this team, it is a committee approach.  I wish there was more of a hierarchy and defined roles.

Dealing with the horrible bench we have doesn't help this immature rudderless Celtic team at all.

The second they fall ten points behind the hero ball begins and soon they're fifteen behind. Moving the ball around and finding the open man is a foreign concept for this team. Shooting percentage takes a back seat to a "it's my turn mentality."

Just because you have a desire to play a certain way doesn't mean it's the way you play best.
