Without looking at detailed film of Hauser, it's very possible that he was an unknown quantity early in the season and caught teams by surprise. Once they started focusing on him and taking away his space his production has declined.

Possibly, but Hauser gets his shot off pretty quickly and it hasn't appeared as though he's been under duress when he fires from 3.  Probably true that he has a little less time but still gets decent looks/shots.  I wonder if it's just him adjusting to that slightly more urgent need to catch and shoot.  He almost always looks like he's able to shoot his shot.

Sorry but Hauser is just not that good. Can't hit an open undefended shot when needed but will hit the occasional shot in garbage time. He should be grateful he ever gets on the court really. I would love to see him succeed but he is very underwhelming. He is no Duncan Robinson.

I think he’s salvageable, but I wouldn’t count on him for the rest of this season.  I’d like to pick up a more experienced wing (preferably with some size) through trade or the buyout market.  The Nets just acquired Finney-Smith, so maybe they might make TJ Warren available, although maybe not to us.  I’m sure Stevens can find someone.

I think that someone is Tony Snell.

I'd obviously love there to be a better buyout candidate available, like Barton or Richardson.

The thing with Snell, is Snell any better than playing Smart or Brogdon or D White at SF?

He is taller and longer but a worse overall basketball player. I like Snell. I am surprised he is not in the league. But frankly, going small is a better option. Or going bigger with G Williams at SF.

Hard pressed to find a backup SF who is superior than those guys sliding up (guards) or down (G Williams) a position.

I'd see Snell more as deep insurance similar to Hauser. A non-regular member of the rotation. Essentially a 3rd stringer. Call upon when needed.

Snell is a long rangey defender at 6'7" witha 7' wingspan. He's bigger than all those guys including Grant. He's a career 40% 3 point shooter and a proven vet. If he still has gas in the tank he seems like a good fit.

Snell is taller and longer but he is not better.

I didn't say better. We wouldn't be giving up anyone to get him. He's a good fit as a back up small forward if he still has gas in the tank. I haven't seen him play in a bit.

I see Snell as a lateral move at best and desperation at the worst.

I don’t think it’s true that Hauser can’t hit an open 3 when it matters. He was doing it the first couple months of the season. Not just once but for an OK sample size. Many here were surprised and singing his praises for a while. Then - he cliffed. But he showed enough not to be written off just yet.

Hauser is untouchable in any Durant trade
