TP to KGs Knee for being the first to post in the game thread!!
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Celtics!!!
If there are loud C's fans in Denver, I'm sure they can go to New York.
Let's go Celtics!

Isn't this game at TD Garden?
Kyrie is OUT tonight. And Larkin is questionable. Brace yourselves, we're gonna be seeing an awful lot of Terry running the offense tonight.

Smart’s immaturity is really hurting this team about now.It is? I think the team has been better without him. As a minimum, not worse.

Maybe. The naked eye test says we blow just as many defensive assignments with him. But that's just one man watching.Smart’s immaturity is really hurting this team about now.It is? I think the team has been better without him. As a minimum, not worse.
Idk, I think we could have really used him in that Warriors game...

I was actually thinking the same thing, had Smart been there, would Curry erupt for 46 points? I would like to think he doesn't

Why is it that people only think about the change that could benefit us? The addition of smart's D doesn't mean we win automatically. Maybe GSW wins another way? It's not as if we were blown out, any little change could make the game go in any direction in our favor or theirs.

The fact is that Curry put up 49 on us because we had nobody that could stay with him around screens, which Smart happens to be about as good at as anyone in the league.
No, it certainly doesn’t guarantee us a win, but I’d bet that had Smart played Curry wouldn’t have had as many points as he did.
I hope that larkin will start over rozier, I think he will fit better with the first unit.
Would be nice to see one of Jaylen or Tatum get their first 30 point game tonight.Rozier will be starting, unless Brad opts to play "big-ball" ;)
But either way, both guys are going to have to come up big, and hopefully Morris+Rozier can contribute well off the bench. Will require a team effort tonight.
Less than stellar start for horford
This could be a Scary Terry type of night.
20+ pts, 8 rbs, 6 ast.
Book it.
Watching KP its surprising to see that his FG% is only 43.8%. How does somebody that tall, who has at least 4-6 inches over virtually every defender not shoot more efficiently?Lots of jump shots

Its a timely showcase of Rozier tonight, a week before the trade deadline...
Its a timely showcase of Rozier tonight, a week before the trade deadline...
I hope so
Well, we all know how bad Rozier wants to be a starter in this league. Maybe Danny told him to have a big game tonight with the trade deadline right around the corner. I mean, he works perfectly as a trade partner for Evans. ;)
What does Brown have to do to get a call?
What does Brown have to do to get a call?
Just keep driving, eventually the refs will start giving you soem calls.
I wish Morris was more consistent on offenseI wish Morris had a second shot.
Dunk of the year??It is so far.
Anyone think Brown is taking that Drummond stuff a bit personally? lolCan't wait until he dunks on Drummomd
Man that new kids dance with the arms moving side to side ::)
I hope these missed FTs dont come back to bite us. Can't miss 2 in a row MM
Washed up guards seem to have a field day against Boston...Collison, Holiday, Bayless, Jack.Pffff. Holiday is exactly the same this season as he's been for most of his career.
What... in the world was that from Tatum? He seems to be having some confidence issues, even after that stellar game in Denver.
Overall, considering the only healthy guard available tonight is Rozier, pretty good half.
Was hoping Tatum would be here to play this game after being much better last game. unfortunately, no. The airball and he could hardly gather the ball a bit ago.
Rozier if he's scoring is great but he isn't running anything. I hope we let Larkin run the PG spot with the starters a bit.
Otherwise, pretty good considering how much they need Kyrie and don't have Smart either.
Just keep driving to the hoop. Knicks playing no defense inside. Stop with the difficult jumpers
What... in the world was that from Tatum? He seems to be having some confidence issues, even after that stellar game in Denver.
He's never played this many games at this intensity level ever before in his life. The rookie wall exist for a reason.
This season is a grind on me and I am just watching, Can't imagine being 19 and starting for the greatest franchise in basketball
Some of its rookie wall, some may be the new baby, some may some regression to the mean (wasnt going to hit 50% from 3 all year). He'll eventually snap out of it.What... in the world was that from Tatum? He seems to be having some confidence issues, even after that stellar game in Denver.
He's never played this many games at this intensity level ever before in his life. The rookie wall exist for a reason.
I have definitely have to think that’s part of it. This is the time of the season that really messes with rookies. Hopefully he’ll bounce back soon.
Rozier really is a beast on the glass for his size.Pound for pound, he's probably their best rebounder
Got to give credit to the refs tonight. Very solid game and letting them play for the most part.
Kanter is a rebounding machine. Up to 17 now.Baynes with ZERO . For real
So we got Marcus Morris and Jaylen Brown playing point guard right now. What universe is this? But actually Jaylen has been pretty good passing tonight. 3 assists and a couple passes that forced New York to foul.Honestly don't have a choice right now lol
Ugh. That was a scary fall. Glad he didn't fall in a way where he'd hit his head.

Looks like that's why he hung on the rim - he realized it was going to be an awkward fall.
How is that not a flagrant?
How is that not a flagrant?
Seriously. We are gonna call that a flagrant?
The Knicks are shooting a foul shot? ****?
What a botching by the refs on that whole exchange. I don't want to hear any BS either, protect the players!
How is that not a flagrant?
Seriously. We are gonna call that a flagrant?
Contact with a man's head while he's in the air? Yeah, I'd call that a flagrant.

Foul occurred away from the ball at end of quarter. New rules mean the Knicks shoot a foul shot.

How do we feel about the Knicks playing on with Morris on the ground??

What about the foul committed on Morris before that foul?
Knee blown out or tailbone

Are you watching?
Neither.
How do we feel about the Knicks playing on with Morris on the ground??Pretty sure we did it against the nuggets.
Marcus checking out Wyc's ring LOL..
That's pretty crappy. It's the right call, but they have to make some sort of provision for injury cases like that. The ref should be able to stop the clock on those possessions.

Given calls I've seen as flagrants this year, including yes anything to the head basically, it should have been.
The refs followed the rules, but the rules need to change.
In soccer if a guy is injured on the other team, you kick the ball out of bounds. When the player gets off the field and play resumes, the other team gives you the ball back.
Basketball should have a courtesy like that if the refs aren't gonna do something.

Again guys there needs to be some intent, not only was intent lacking but he made a play for the block meaning its not a flagrant. It was a foul tho, that the refs missed.

"Flagrant foul. In basketball, a flagrant foul is a personal foul that involves excessive or violent contact that could injure the fouled player. A flagrant foul may be unintentional or purposeful; the latter type is also called an "intentional foul" in the NBA."

Exactly. Intent is not a definition of it.
Al got one early in the year when a guard was on the switch, so when he did a drop step and swung his elbow it was at the guard's head. They called it. He wasn't even looking so it wasn't intentional. That's not part of that rule.
Gotta love growing a lead with 4 rookies and Rozier on the floor!

Ya, and that shouldn't of been a flagrant. Neither should that on Morris. Contact was made, but it wasn't excessive. Granted the play result in injury but that was more because Morris was off balance hanging on the rim. It was unfortunate. Not a flagrant.
Greg monroe just got bought out. How important is it to get him if morris is out for a longer period may
Nader has some nice length as well.very true

wow congrats to Rozier on his triple dub

Such a fun, terrific game for pretty much everyone who played. The only bad thing was Morris injury.what happened to morris??? :P
Mook was fantastic
Terry Rozier triple double
Jaylen Brown dunked on a unicorn
Nader made some shots
Al was an all around stud
Defense was insane
Tatum made some nice shots
I’m gonna sleep nice tonight after this win.
And yet another game blown by the Heat by not taking a timeout to set up a go-ahead bucket.Heat had no time-outs left I believe. They finished the game with zero.
I simply don't understand why coaches continuously make this mistake, ESPECIALLY against a terrible defense like Cleveland's. That just makes no sense whatsoever.
#NEBHInjuryReport: Marcus Morris suffered a bruised left hip and will not return to tonight's game.

"contact that could injure the fouled player"
So every contact that results in an injury to a player is a flagrant? Obviously not. There has to be excessive contact, there wasn't. Its unfortunate that Morris was injured but it was incidental. But reasonable people can agree to disagree. I'm just a little tired of every little bit of contact being a flagrant.

No, it was not incidental... it was a breakaway foul. Morris was ahead of Beasley who really had no play on the ball without making contact with a defenseless airborne Morris. It was a bush league play similar to what caused Heyward's injury. NBA should do something about this.

I agree. It was head hunting at it's finest. Morris falling like that should've tipped the refs that he was hit.

Also no foul on that Hayward play in the 1st game of the year. Maybe the NBA can keep more Celtics players from getting hurt while in the air.
I don't think the head is part of the ball. You should watch it again. It's clearly a blown call.
I'm guessing he's referring to the Hayward play? Because there was clearly a foul committed against Morris.
Yes I'm referring to the Hayward play. the Morris play was clearly a foul.
I think there was also clear contact on that Hayward play.
Contact does not mean foul.
I think it was a clear foul on that Hayward play...
