should be interesting to see where he goes.  not a Pats fan but with the cult of personality in the sports world (cheering for the name on the back instead of the name on the front), I can see a lot of "Pats" fans getting really ticked off and transition their fandom to wherever Brady goes.

remember as a kid growing up in RI in the 70's how the Pats were the least followed of the 4 Boston franchises.  They comfortably rose to the #2 slot right behind the Sox since the rise of Brady.  I can see them sliding back again without him and if the C's and B's become contenders and win a title/Stanley Cup in the near future.

I'm pretty disappointed in this. Should have retired a Patriot. Going to be like Jordan in Washington - unnatural

I really wanted Tom to retire a Pat.. wish the Patriots felt the same way.

I think BB is in for a rude awakening this season. Lots of AFC East teams improving and Pats are on a rapid decline losing Brady, Van Noy and Collins.

Yeah, I think the Bills are going to be really solid this year. Probably overpaid for Diggs (when you look at what Hopkins went for), but he's still a thousand yard receiver in his prime

Saw it coming by the end, but end of an era.

What a privilege it was. Greatest player in this history of American sports if you ask me.

Only thing that between us and a 4th place finish right now is the ineptitude of Adam Gase

Not all! Kobe, Timmy and Dirk stayed put, and I think it definitely helped the way people view them. I think this will likely tarnish Tom's legacy.

However, if he goes on and wins a ring or two, then jeesh. Really puts to bed any argument

It was time. It has been time.

The pats have a bad cap situation and few avenues to improve the team.

Now they can focus on building a team that can be sustainably fun and competitive in the near future.

The Celtics are the kings of Boston now!  You know, if they ever get to play again

How fitting that all things in MA are basically closed.

It's official. 2020 SUCKS

Brady. Pierce. Ortiz.

Those were my guys. Carried me from my late teens to my late 30s. Brady was the last one.  Now they're all gone.

It was inevitable but still a bummer.

Let's just remember that Bill always knows the right time to cut ties.

I won't be surprised when Brady misses the playoffs next season.
