Man o man I have not done one of these one sided trades in a while....

Bostons sends out Team Favorite Hayward and #14.

Boston receives  TJ Warren and Miles Turner...

That is the frame work.

Boston says no.

Does Boston even want Turner at the contract?

I don't know...    I was just playing the rumors.

I think it would balance our roster...   And save us money, I don't see Boston doing it though.

I think Indiana says no, because of the inclusion of TJ Warren. With the way he played last season, especially in the bubble, I see him as one of their main building blocks.

I think this trade works for both sides if Boston includes pick #30 and Carsen Edwards along with Hayward and pick #14 for Turner and Warren.

I think Indy says yes. TJ Warren is all about scoring. He became Indy's first option in the bubble cause Sabonis was injured and Dipo was a shell of himself. Imo, there is zero chance his bubble numbers are sustainable going forward. Not if he plays for a playoff team anyway.

From Indy's point of view:
  • They sell high on Warren.
  • They replace him with a better player in Hayward. His contract sucks right now, but it only runs till the end of the season. I assume Indy feels confident they can re-sign him (otherwise they don't pull the trigger).
  • They balance out their roster by moving Turner.
  • They get a late lotto pick.

From our point of view:
  • Again, Warren is all about scoring. Hayward is a Point Forward who makes everyone around him better. We already got 3 scorers in our starting lineup in Tatum-Brown-Kemba. Imo, the last thing we need is a starting wing who only cares for his own shots.
  • I was high on Turner. I'm not anymore. I would even argue that his 18 million a year contract might become a negative trade asset down the road.
  • Warren and Turner are on the books till 2022 and 2023 respectively. I really don't think Wyc would be willing to pay Tatum + Brown + Kemba + Turner + Warren + Smart in 2021-2022. The tax bill would explode through the roof.

If I were Danny, I would say no.

Am I the only one that would want Brogdon and Turner? (for Hayward, Edwards, Poirier and Cash)

Brogdon as the 6th man and the guy who can preserve Kemba if needed.

Kemba/Brogdon
Smart/Romeo
Brown
Tatum/Grant
Turner/Theis/Timelord

I wouldnt be including picks though. I think that Hayward is worth that package.

Oh I’m sure Brogdon would be the 1st dude people would wish to pluck from Indy. I think he’s their best asset moving forward right now.

I would be thrilled to get Warren and Turner for Hayward and the #14.  Warren is over 40% from 3 the last two seasons and is a pretty efficient scorer on a decent contract.  Indy does not have a first round pick this year, we have 3.  Maybe that is enough.  More likely we end up with Turner and Lamb or Oladipo and the #14 becomes the #26.

Any of the above is way better than Hayward opting out and the Celtics ending up with nothing.

I think they value Sabonis and Dipo more.

Holiday
Dipo
Warren
Hayward
Sabonis

Although I think they need front court defense and Bring warren off the bench

Oh great looks like we are half way done then, probably less than a million to go till the season starts.   8)
