UPDATE: Monday 2/6

Just a couple of games tonight:

7:00 ESPN     Louisville       Mitchell (45)

9:00 ESPN     KU/KSt         Josh Jackson (10), Mikhailiuk (11)/Iwundu (25)

TP to you!

I wonder what Josh Jackson has to do to be considered for the #1 spot.

I hope Jackson gets there soon, because he has ALMOST every skill to be the #1 rated prospect, and the rest of his game/attributes are elite, including his "heart".

The only (I know it's a big ONLY for a lot of people on here, especially with Danny's propensity to draft athletic, high IQ, coachable, fiery players who aren't exactly great shooters) thing holding him back from being #1 is his shot.

55% free-throw shooting gives a lot of people pause to select him#1.

There is hope, though, especially regarding his 3pt%. He stands at 33% for the season, and he is improving. He is 13/33 at 39% in his last 10 games and 11/21 at 52% in his last 5 games.

Let's hope he keeps showing improvement. I'd love to see him at #1, but Fultz seems pretty entrenched there.

And TP back atcha..

One analysis of him I saw made the comment "He would have gone #1 ten years ago." I think that blurb accurately represents where he is. He is great at everything except shooting, and since the league has trended toward shooting, he is devalued.

It's not even just that his numbers are bad, his shot looks like it has fundamental flaws. His hitch is nasty.

Other than drastically altering his shot, he doesn't have a shot at #1 right now.

Ball at least has a shot at #1 overall and his shot is worse than Jackson's. But it goes in like Steph Curry's does.

Improve his free throw shooting, which seems to be the best predictor of future shooting success.

If we are to knock Jackson's shooting mechanics, I don't see how we can give Ball a pass. Both have unorthodox shots. Whether or not they will be able to maintain such mechanics in the NBA will be seen. Both appear to be great athletes, and are young enough to make changes.

I still prefer Fultz, Jackson, Ball, Isaac, and Tatum in that order.

Likely upsides:

Fultz- taller Lillard/Harden w some D (hopefully)
Ball- Jason Kidd
Jackson- Kawhi
Isaac- Rashard Lewis
Tatum- Pierce

Not like Curry's. Catch and shoot yeah, but no pull ups or moving threes. If there are highlights they are usually awkward AF and Ball is usually laying on the floor because he's leaning back so much on those type of shots, his balance goes out the window taking contested shots.

Jonathan Isaac looking more and more like a top 3 player.

Got FSU's first seven points.....blocks, steals, pressing.

DSJ getting swallowed up early.

Lot of bball to go, but FSU really dominating.

UPDATE: Thursday 2/9

7:00 ESPN2     Purdue/Indiana     Swanigan(50)/Bryant(31) battle of the BIGS!!

8:00 ESPN       UNC/Duke    JustinJackson(44), I Hicks(4)/Tatum(0), Giles(1), Allen(3), Kennard (5), Bolden (20)......Tobacco Road battle...Duke with more raw talent/UNC with the better team

8:00 ESPN3   Valparaiso      Alec Peters (25)

10:00 FS1     Washington   Fultz (20)

10:00 ESPN   UCLA/Oregon Ball(2), Leaf(22)/Boucher(25), Bell(1), Brooks(24), Dorsey (5).....BEST GAME OF THE NIGHT....UCLA wants revenge for getting beaten up in Eugene....Oregon has a lot of underrated talent, so it will be a good test for Ball and Co.

Last night: Issac in my top 4 now: Last night 21 pts 7 'bounds in 24 minutes; DSJ 8 points/6 asst in 35 minutes not very impressive.

Fultz and DSJ have the same excuses made for them: they're on bad teams so they get no help. That IS one way of looking at it. And then there's another.

UCLA down 19, come back and win led by Lonzo Ball.

18/11 huge in crunch time>>>>>CLUTCH GENE.

The game lived up to its billing. Both potential elite 8 teams.

Anybody watch Fultz tonite?

TP....thanks for the info....Injured?

Colorado is a pretty good team. Underrated.

PAC-12 is a pretty impressive conference this year.
