I've given Jaylen Brown a ton of crap on this board, so it's only right that I publicly give him praise. I've been impressed by his work ethic and how he improved from his early season struggles. The guy put his head down and worked. That deserves respect.

If you told me at the beginning of the season that I would prefer to keep Jaylen over Tatum in an AD trade, I'd call you crazy. But that's where I'm at.

As a huge Jaylen fan I'm happy that he's starting to get the respect he deserves. Sure he's not the most polished player but I'm confident that he'll continue to improve and eventually be a franchise cornerstone.

I think Brown is mentally stronger. He also seems to work on his game more.

Tatum to me seems to be going through the motions.

I'm going to echo the OP's praise of Jaylen. His stint on the second unit seems like it provided a wakeup call for him. He's relentless going to the rim, and now he's now finding "changeup" moves when he gets there. Some work on free throw shooting and ball handling and his future look's bright.

His body language is much better than Tatum's. His body is further along too. Tatum's work with Kobe was a total waste of time.

I think I've been on this exact same journey at pretty much the same pace as you, lol. In complete agreement and have eaten crow.

I think for a "smart guy" Brown takes some time to learn things.

This year he got called for charges, it seemed, twice a game. It is a weakness, but, I know he will figure it out.

He "lost" 5 minutes per game this season from the last. This is because his team had "too many wings." I guess. He didn't start for 60+ games and adjusted really well to the bench. I think that this is a very big deal about Brown.

Core player. Completely out sizes opposing back courts and fights on defense.

Keeps getting better and he already is good. He is 23 years old and has three seasons under his belt.

He "might" be the third best player on a championship team some day, but, safer to say 4th best.

I'd say Jaylen can be a 2nd option, with the slight possibility of being a Kawhi lite.

If Brown can improve his handle the sky is the limit
