  • No no no, not THAT "Eric M Van".
There's an article on the front page about DeShawn Sims competing in the Celtics training camp. I did a quick search on him and he played last year in the Lebanese Basketball league.

I commented I didn't even know there was one and "European NBA fan " posted a link to a 113 point scoring spree by a guy named Mohammad Akkari last year.

Me being me and the internet being the internet I looked up recorded 100 point games by players in "organized" BB leagues.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_basketball_players_who_have_scored_100_points_in_a_single_game

This little tidbit grabbed my attention:

The first recorded instance was on March 8, 1913, when Herman Saygar of Culver High School (Indiana) scored 113 points against Winamac High School.

1913???!!!! Wow, turns out the guy also "invented" the 3 point shot.

All hail Herman Sayger!
"Because there are no fours."
-- Antoine Walker when asked why he shoots so many threes

"We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees."

Who knew that they used to wear cleats and thigh pads in the early days of basketball?
