well, I guess that puts to rest all those "Ainge should have traded Allen for Kevin Martin" complaints.

Wow.

At least Martin went to a team I really like.

Unfortunately I can't watch the Rockets whenever I want to.  Nope.  Gotta watch the Celtics and Nate Robinson.

Joy of joys.

Well, if you hoped that Danny could pull a Ray for Martin/Nocioni deal before the deadline, here go your hopes. Understandable that the Kings preferred Houston's offer though, Landry is a great player and he has a cheap contract.

Yeah, Morey must really love Kevin Martin to give up Carl Landry to get him.  We certainly couldn't compete with that.

Hopefully the fact that this deal went down without any warning whatsoever can give us some hope that Danny is still doing some working with those phones.

Really? I think Houston overpaid for Martin. Carl Landry is a beast and McGrady was coveted by a few teams. I think Martin's a good player, but not worth quite that much. I think what the Celtics were offering was probably too fair a deal for Sacramento to accept.

Yeah, but who is left on the market?

Iguodala? I'm not sold on him and his contract is terrible. Plus, Philly wouldn't trade him for expirings and to a division rival.

There is really nobody left that could be an upgrade for now and for the future of the Celtics. Martin was the best fit possible and he is not an option anymore.

in my opinion, Danny did not much for upgrading this roster.
About two months behind a midget, and now he is desperate.
Witouth a major move now, next year could be an hell.

I think it would be poetic if T-Mac stays for a few seasons in NYC and then goes to china.

Would solidify NYC as a basketball graveyard.

Landry is really good. No way we could top that. I bet that move killed Morey to make.

You would trade Ra for any of these players?

I would not.

(1) Jason Richardson -- yes, definitely

(2) Rip Hamilton -- uncertain

(3) Corey Maggette -- if other incentives were included I would consider it but not by himself. A Maggette + Morrow package would be tempting.

It's hard to say one guy is way better than the other. I mean, Ainge has the title to fall back on. Guess what? Post-title teams almost always have fewer movable assets than up and coming teams. Most players on title teams aren't considered expendable, because they're title players, and a dearth of draft picks means fewer young studs, on average. So those not-as-good teams almost always have better assets with which to trade.

However, Morey's second round drafting has definitely been better so far.
