YIKES. Mavericks were up 96-80 and gave up a 32-9 run to lose the game to the Grizzlies. Mavs only scored 12 points in the 4th and only scored 3 the final 5:30  :o
Kidd is still a terrible coach

The Jazz may actually have a real shot of making the play in tournament. They do play the Lakers two more times before the season ends too so the results of those games will matter as well
They play the Thunder as well.

Yeah a lot of the play in teams or hopefuls in the West play each other at least once (some twice) before the season ends. Should be exciting  ;D

I’m a little biased but I hope OKC sneaks in. Fun team, big fan of SGA, but also their playoff colors, crowd and atmosphere are absolutely electric. And blue is my fav color (orange 2nd fav) lol. Would love to see some OKC playoff basketball return

Jazz pulling a Celtics. Up 20+ early but now midway through the 3rd it’s only a 5-point lead

The take foul is a perfect example of a "good in theory" idea that doesn't actually work in practice. Olynyk just called for a "take foul" on a fastbreak, even though he was swiping at the ball and actually knocked it loose at least once.

Just no reliable way to make that determination, especially on the move like it is. It requires refs to determine intent, which is just non-sense.

Lakers lose ground and appear to be back out of the playin after a gutsy jazz win. For a team that has Davis right now and had Lebron for 50 games being reduced to hoping the jazz lose is pretty funny.

Am I crazy for actually siding with Kyrie on something?

Blowing off Dillon Brooks on the jersey exchange.

Lakers remaining schedule is:

PHX
OKC
CHI
@CHI
@MIN
@HOU
@UTAH
@LAC
PHX
UTAH

That's a pretty rough road trip. What do we think LAL goes in the next 10 games? Or what would they have to do to make it. I think 6-4 is likely, also assuming Lebron returns early April, but I'm not sure if that's still a guarantee to make it. 7-3 or better and I think it's a guarantee they make it.

If the Lakers go 7-3, they will be in the play-in, especially if they win the games against the teams they are fighting position for i.e. OKC, Minnesota, and Utah.  Frankly, given they are only 1 loss outside of 6th right now, they'd have a small, but not totally out of question shot, at making the 6th seed if they finished at 42-40 (7-3).

I'm all for that from Kyrie to be honest.

They are not going to pass five teams and get into the 6th spot.  They are more likely to get caught by New Orleans, which has several winnable games coming up (Spurs, Hornets, and Blazers) than they are to catapult themselves all the way to 6th.

That said, there are so many wasted bytes on the Lakers on these forums.  We should be talking more about the Raptors, an equally disappointing team, but in our same division and one we have a chance of running into in the first round.

Last week he was saying how Ring chasing culture is toxic, this week he doesn’t want to be part of a rebuild.  :laugh:

@TheNBACentral

Damian Lillard says he’s not interested in rebuilding

“That's not what I'm interested in. That's what the frustrating part of it is. Talking about what's gonna happen next season. And us 'building'. That's not what I'm here to do especially at this stage …

I think it’s very likely MIA finishes the 6 seed, BKN the 7 and in the play-in tournament. 1 seed is basically not possible so we just need to hold on to the 2 seed and face either BKN or ATL 1st round

There is a big difference between not possible, and unlikely (bolded).
We win tonight we are 2 games back of the Bucks.  We win the last C's - Bucks game and get to one back.
Not a lot of games left, but it is still possible.  Winning out the rest of the year probably gets us at least tied with the Bucks and then we would have the tie-breaker.

Now is it likely?  yeah even I admit it is not LIKELY.  So prove us wrong C's!
