One article I read said this thing got discovered when Williams tried to impersonate an insurance officer demanding money be returned for a false claim. But the person Williams contacted didnt bite on the con. Instead the person asked the actual office if there was a claim on him for fraud which then opened a real investigation. They discovered the whole group thanks to Williams getting greedy and trying to con a man he was already scheming with. A classic "No honor amongst thieves".
I definitely want to read about this when the case closes.
