According to spotrac, as of opening night the C's are about $6.3M over the tax.
The calclulation includes LTBE incentives and excludes ULTBE incentives.

When are ULTBE incentives charged against the cap if earned? This year or next? Jaylen has an ULTBE incentive of $964k of MVP/DPOY/All-NBA.

Jalen seems to have LTBE incentives of $500k for games played(65) and $1.5M for AllStar selection.
Marcus has LBTE of $500k for "body fat"
Juan has LBTE of $837k, does anybody know for what?

I would assume if an LTBE isn't earned, it would come off the cap for the tax calculation for this season.

  • takes.....MAKES!!!!
I asked Keith Smith this once and he said this season - that he adds them at the end of the season (before he joined Spotrac).

I believe all of these players have similar clauses for each year of their contracts.

Don't know if Smart still has the weight clause once his extension kicks in next season.

I have been wondering about that 837K for Juan as well...

Anybody know???

It won't affect this year's cap but for flexibility the rookie option's deadline is Nov 1.
RL, GW, AN, and PP. I'd exercise all of them.

If Jaylen plays the season like last night, his ULTBE incentive of All-NBA will become very LTBE. That could very happily throw a wrench into things.

That would be good.
If we were hard capped would we need to include the ULTBE?

The team won't be doing anything that will hard cap them this year.
