Really?  It's only awful if guys don't improve.  We've seen Romeo and Nesmith improve, now if Romeo is healthy and Nesmith takes the next step as he should.  We've seen what TL can do when healthy.   Those three put us eight deep and I haven't talked about PP yet.  Also, just two years ago, Parker averaged 14PPG at 26 MPG.  What can he do around 15-18.  The bench isn't awful, but we do need some things to break our way.

Smart-Pritchard-Dunn

Brown-Langford-Semi
Tatum-Parker-Semi/Grant
Horford-Timelord-???

I’m disappointed that the C’s were not able to retain Fournier, but overall I’m OK with the depth chart, minus the PF position. Hopefully Jabari Parker is able to give the C’s a solid 10-15 minutes per game and I wouldn’t mind bringing Semi back at the league minimum. Need a third string C, though. Not sure who is left at this point.

I guess if this is it we have another development year for the J's.

As has been the case for a couple of years...no frontcourt.

Cannot see why Brown and Tatum won't improve which moves them higher in the league's list of top players.

Wild cards:
Horford's minutes
Robert's injuries
Bruno's ability to play defense against starters
Will Stevens get a center?
As far as young guys, can't expect much.

Tatum is 26.4 ppg 38.6 from three
Brown is 24.7 ppg 39.7 from three

Both of these players can come close to "guarding anybody on defense."

Las season was quite bad, have to assume this season won't be a repeat.

Oh yeah. Romeo improved a lot. He went from always being hurt and unavailable to just sitting on the bench and not being good at basketball. The bench was an issue last year and it’s literally the same right now. It’s bad. An injury to JB or JT and this team is toast. Defense might be better but their offense will rely heavily on JB and JT. No one else on the roster can create which will likely mean Smart will take it upon himself to take 20 shots a game now. As constituted, this team is a 7-8 seed right now.

If healthy, it looks like a 45-50 win team and a solid 4-5 seed in the East, with a clean cap and no bad contracts.  It also has a few middle class expiring contracts to put into a midseason trades, plus a couple of good sized TPEs to use midseason if the team over achieves.

Oh and all of it's picks going forward.

The score is currently 0 - 0 between Bad Stevens and Rad Stevens, but Bad Stevens holds possession. Still a chance for Rad Stevens to clinch it, but hopes are diminishing.
Man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much—the wheel, New York, wars and so on—whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time.

But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man—for precisely the same reasons.

Semi signed in Milwaukee, FYI.

That's a brutal offensive team. Best case for success is Nesmith takes a mega leap and emerges as a 15 ppg guy. Otherwise, we're going to have a full season of Marcus Smart as the 3rd option.

I thoroughly expect Langford to take the leap as a scorer rather than Nesmith.  I think he takes over a starting role next to Smart or Richardson in the backcourt before the season is over.  While it does seem that our calling card will be defense, putting up a top 10 offense is thoroughly achievable if we run an actual offense.

I agree. I don't understand why people have him so low on depth chart. Like they didn't watch him blossom end of last season after finally getting healthy. His defense is stellar. I think he will be our best multi positional defender, and take on the top wings.

I think (or hope) one of the two will make some kind of jump. I'm pretty interested to see how Ime runs an offence.

I just don't have the same belief in Romeo that others do. I think he tops out as a defensive specialist ala Matisse Thybulle and that's perfectly fine. Nesmith at least can shoot - in theory. Our offense is going to be bogged down by lack of spacing. Is Al our best shooter outside of the Jays in that starting lineup?

Do you guys even know the version of Horford that will appear for next season. Folks assume we are getting the Horford that left. Is this a given?

I'd say Horford is the worst shooter there given how reluctant a shooter he is. How much time and space he requires to even get a shot off. How few attempts he actually takes despite (at times) shooting good percentages.

So a toss up between Smart and J-Rich. Smart may be our best shooter outside Jaylen & Tatum. A fairly horrid thought.

At least it is somewhat offset by having 3 mediocre outside shooters rather than 1-2 shooters + 1-2 non-shooters. So defenses will have to extend themselves somewhat with that. Vacate the paint.

I hope we'll get a version of Horford that helps bring out the better version of the guys around him, even if his own abilities have lessened.  I think that's what Stevens is relying on.

Here's hoping our depth chart will look like this in the not-to-distant future.

PG: Smart - Pritchard
SG: Beal - Nesmith
SF: Brown - Nesmith
PF: Tatum - vet min
C: Timelord - vet min

This is assuming the Wizards will sign and trade Beal to the Celtics for Horford's expiring + Romeo + BOS 2022 first (signed and traded) + future pick(s)
