The Raptors model is the one we should probably try and emulate. Defensive-minded bigs who can stretch the floor, elite wing play and a dangerous guard.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Cowherd and Nick Wright?  Just reading that kills brain cells.

But yes, basketball is easiest with big, skilled players.

Bogut was 7 foot and a key piece.  Plus it's the greatest shooting team ever, not a great example

Bogut couldn't jump over a piece of paper by the time GS were contending

Bogut wasn’t part of the Durant title teams, was he?  He was a decent role player on the pre-Durant teams though.

Yeah, he was pre-Durant - was All-Defensive team in 2015 but he didn't play as much in the Finals. He really should have made an All-Defensive team for 09-10 or 10-11.

He also returned for 11 games in 2018-19 when he could barely move. Then came to the Australian NBL and won the MVP in 2019 ;D

Very true, everyone talks about how the Warriors won 73 games with 'small ball' but they started most games with:

Bogut (7'0")
Green (6'7")
Barnes (6'8")
Thompson (6'6")
Curry (6'3")

With main role players

Iguodala (6'6")
Livingston (6'7")
Speights (6'10")
Ezeli (6'11")
Barbosa (6'3")

That is actually a reasonably tall team
5' 10" former point guard

Career highlight: 1973-74 championship, Boston Celtics

Career lowlight: traded for a washing machine

One of the great what if's is the 2010's OKC team.

Their front court has to be one of the tallest contenders in history

Perkins (6'11")
Ibaka   (6'11")
Durant (6'11")

I think if Presti could have his time again he would have moved Westbrook in 2011*, which would have brought back a kings ransom and then built around Ibaka, Durant & Harden.

* Guess who was the 1st pick in the 2011 draft, Kyrie Irving hahaha

Speights played 11 minutes per game. Bogut played 20. All of their players over 6'8 were jags and far from great athletes. They were great because they had 2 elite shooters, an elite defender, and some solid role players. They're the antithesis of the point this thread is trying to make.

Then again, so were the Bulls with their collection of jag big men in the 90s, and Lebron's best "big man" in Cleveland was 6'7.5  Kevin Love.

Yout still trying to make a point with One team? The greatest shooting team ever who lost to the Cavs. And guess what they did next?

They added 6'10" Durant with a 7'5" wingspan who's maybe the greatest scorer ever. Wow, great point.
