@Chris Grenham;

Source confirms that the Celtics had forward Nigel Hayes in for a workout this week. @Carchia (Emiliano Carchia) was first to report.

Hayes impressed during the workout, and there is interest on both sides in regards to a roster spot -- there have been no summer league discussions at this point.

Hayes, 26, averaged 9.8 points per game last season with Zalgiris while shooting 44.2% from 3. Hayes played nine NBA games in 2018 with the Lakers, Raptors and Kings after a four-year career at Wisconsin. There currently is serious overseas interest in Hayes.

Hayes, now 26, went undrafted during the 2017 NBA Draft following his 4-year collegiate career with the Wisconsin Badgers. Hayes is 6’8 with a 7’3 wingspan and 254 lbs.

@Chris Grenham;

Former Notre Dame (from Cambridge, MA) forward Zach Auguste also had a good workout with Boston this week, per sources.

I'm told he'll continue to work out at the facility in the coming weeks, meaning he'll likely take part in the Celtics summer league workouts which begin in the next few days.

Auguste played 43 games with Panathinaikos this year in his fifth season overseas. Emiliano Carchia was first to report this workout as well.

So a summer league starting team of:

PG   Pritchard
SG   Langford
SF   Nesmith
PF   Nigel Hayes
C    Moses Brown (I am hoping he is there)

That is a pretty good team.

A player I’d love for the Celtics to take a chance on is Luke Sikma (Jack Sikma’s son).

Sikma plays in Germany as a power forward, but as he’s only 6’8”, he’d be a small forward in the NBA. He is a veteran and has an amazing level of basketball i.q to make up for his lack of athleticism, something that always translates to the NBA.

His passing is epic. Dunno about his defence

Yes he’s amazing. You’re right about his defence, it’s what would be the issue. Sikma seems to have reasonably quick feet for his size and him being a high iq guy with a bit of effort should compensate for a lack of size and athleticism.

Here is just from one game against Yabusele last season and Sikma kills him.

I never remember Semi doing this in a game.

Just a minute...Semi "did this"

Minutes 38
FG 12 for 19
PTS 38
FT 11 for 13
Reb 12

Granted it was against East Carolina in March of 2017.
The Raptors G-League team is much better than the East Carolina Pirates
