I posted this in the Kemba thread thought maybe it deserved it's own thread.

Let's say Spencer Dinwiddie opts in to his player option would the Nets do:

TT for Dinwiddie?

I am not sure what else needs to be there 1st? 2nd? a couple 2nds? It fills a need for us. TT could help them, not sure if they'd want him.

Like the idea but think it would take more than TT alone

They'd probably want Smart and that seems to be closer in value.

Dinwiddie is more of a scoring PG, not a distributor. I don't think he's a good fit. Smart is a better fit for us.

If Dinwiddie has enough value that he could be traded for Smart, he will opt out of his deal and hit free agency.

Disagree. We need a more dynamic offensive guard than Smart in our backcourt. Like when we had Terry Rozier here. We need someone that has some quickness, some handles and some creation off the dribble (for themselves and/or for others). Smart is not dynamic enough with the ball do fill that function.

Dinwiddie would be a good target. I'd like to see him here. He would fit well next to Tatum, Jaylen and Horford. That would be a strong offensive grouping to build an offense around. They would make life easier for everyone else because of the balance and teamwork they offer together.

Then that is what he will do.  The latest report I saw was that if the Nets make the finals Dinwiddie may be able to play, so he will be fully healthy at some point this summer and his numbers were fantastic last season for the Nets after years of steady improvement.
