I want to say I was wrong about WCS, he has improved a lot. Give him credit he has turned himself into a good player. He does have some Tyson Chandler qualities.

Yeah, I think a lot of people criticizing him haven't seen him play yet this year.  He has really improved.

ESPN2 commentators just said the exact same thing, calling him one of the most improved in college basketball. They said he has the mobility to defend 1-4. Not sure about 1s, but even 2s, 3s and 4s is pretty impressive.

Also said he was a good rim protector.

Watching Arkansas game on ESPN2. Bobby Portis is beasting. Check him out here or Espn2 now.

This article is a pretty honest view into where Willey Caulie Stein's head's at. He seems like he has confidence issues which can be overcome (Roy Hibbert comes to mind) but what might be more troubling would be a lack of desire to play Basketball.
Quote
"I just feel like I haven't really done much," Cauley-Stein tells Bleacher Report. "I don't think I'm as good as people say."

Quote
"Granny," he asked Norma Stein, "would you be mad if I didn't go to the NBA?"

"He wanted to know what I'd think if he didn't turn pro at all—as in, ever," Norma said. "For a while he was really gung-ho about the NBA. I still think he wants to go. But he's just interested in so many different things besides basketball."

WCS has legitmimatly considered not going pro. He may not love the game which, as Andrew Bynum has shown us, could be a major red flag.

I wouldn't hold that against him.  Bynum was lazy.  By WCS's improvement, I think he has his head screwed on straight and is a hard worker.

WCS now 4th in Draft Express mock.  Let's see if he can keep playing well and become a shoe-in at 4.

Draftexpress has has been updating and moving players around every couple days now.  No mock draft at this time is comparable to each other ranking wise.

True.  But the top 3 does seem pretty realistic, and I would imagine that if WCS keeps up his current level of play it would be hard for a team to pass up on a 7 footer like him at # 4.  Stanley Johnson also seems like a guy who could challenge for that spot if he has a great year.

Yeah, I agree the top 3 is pretty much set. Kind of like last year.

If I had to guess, I'd say Stanley Johnson is top 6 pick. Somewhere between 4 - 6th pick. But it depends on what team gets what pick and what positional need they plan to fill taking into account player talent.

Its a mix of best player available and positional need.  I think a top 6 pick is needed to get a potential franchise player.

This week is quit for NBA draft prospect watch type games but Saturday has some good ones.

UNC vs UK 12:00 on CBS
This could be a game to thrust Kennedy Meeks into the spot light. He has been playing great this season but the giants on UK will be a tough match-up. Aside from that UNC lacks the size to compete with UK but they are very athletic.

Michigan vs Arizona 5:15 ESPN
Michigan is coming off an embarrassing loss. They have two 6'7 NBA prospects wings in LeVert and Irvin who will be matched up against likely loto picks Hollis-Jefferson and Stanley Johnson. Its rare to see two teams both with 6'7 wings with 1st round potential.

UCLA vs Gonzaga 10:00pm on ESPN 2
I will be watching just to see Looney. I haven't seen him play yet and Gonzaga has true NBA size. UCLA also has Powel and Alford who will be NBA players.

Utah vs Kansas 10:00pm ESPN
Utah has two NBA prospects in 7' freshman Poeltl and  6'5 senior Wright. Poeltl vs Alexander will be the first good gauge of Poeltl talent vs NBA level prospects.

I didnt get to watch nearly as much BBall as a wanted this weekend.

From what I did watch Looney really impressed me. He may be a top 3 player in this class 5 years from now. His physical profile lends itself to being a star SF. The little i watched in his game vs the Zags he seems held back as a ball handler in UCLAs system. He will have alot of developing to do but I could see him as a bigger more inside dominate J Green.

Is it just me or is Georges Niang looking like a decent 2nd rounder?  He's from MA, too!

If we got WCS we could roll out Dirk lite (Kelly) and Chandler lite as the starting front court. I'd be so down.  ;D :P

WCS would be perfect for this team. I think his defense and rebounding could really cover up for Olynyk's defense. As you said, on offense his rim rolling could really free up Olynyk for some 3's.

Top 5 players I want the C's to draft
1. Towns
2. Okafor
3. WCS
4. Winslow
5. Johnson
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Honestly, Kelly looks like he's trying hard out there to make up for his lack of D. He looks like he's getting better. But you're right putting WCS next to him would help a lot. I'd dig it.

Also, that's a solid top 5! TP

as of the morning of 12/16/14, C's would have 5 picks in this draft if my interpretation of the pending draft deals is correctly: 2 firsts (Boston and Clips) and 3 seconds (Philly, Boston and Washington -->Washington is precarious due to it's protection of top 49).
Picks 9, 23, 31, 39 and 55.

Based on players available at those spots in the first round based a reviewing a few mock draft sites, C's should be able to grab a top SF prospect at 9 (Stanley Johnson, Kelly Oubre, Justise Winslow or perhaps Kevon Looney as a power forward - I know, another PF) and go for a center prospect at 23 with Dakari Johnson.
Myles Turner may be available at 9 enabling the C's to go for a non-center at 23 if they think Zeller is the real deal as a backup C.

Second round could see us taking a flyer on a Harrison twin (or two) to replace Pressey and/or a euro player to stash for a couple of years.

Personally, I think the C's will drop in the standings and improve their draft position since I can't see Detroit, NY, LA, Charlotte and Indy continuing to play worse than us with better players.
