Semi Ojeleye set the pace for the Celtics on both ends of the court against the Sixers.  He finished with 16 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists.  The Celtics will need him to lead the team once again in this game. 
Guerschon Yabusele also finished with 16 points and added 7 rebounds and 2 assists.  When the game was on the line in the 4th quarter, he came up big and hit a layup and a 3 to assure the Celtics the victory. 
Jabari Bird looked good against the Sixers, scoring 14 points along with 8 rebounds and 2 assists.  The Celtics will need him to continue to play well in this game.

Tyler Lydon was the 24th pick in the 2017 draft but was injured 1 game into his rookie season.  His knee has fully healed and he is ready to try to prove himself in this year's Summer League after working on his shot and adding muscle in the off season.  He came up with 7 points 7 rebounds and 3 assists in his first game back from the knee injury. 
Malik Beasley is entering his third season with the Nuggets.  He was the 19th pick in 2016.  He played 22 games in his first season and 62 in his second season.  He has averaged 3.32 points and 1.05 rebounds in his two seasons so far.  He put up 10 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists in his first game. 
Monte Morris was the 51st pick last season and is looking to take a step forward in his development with a big game in Summer League.  Morris scored 15 points to go with 2 rebounds and 4 assists in Denver's win over the Wolves.

Might, might not. Even Rondo’s a mid-30s guy from 3 now, so there’s no reason to write someone off after a season and a little summer league.

Nice to watch Bird playing so well.

He has a chance to be a real NBA player.  A clear #2, not a PG or a 3, or designated sharpshooter but it looks like he's been asked to add a backdoor cutter and take the ball to the rim from the wing.  He has the length to compensate for the lack of the same kind of athleticism Rozier has in his vertical leap.  That same length, though, is a distinct advantage on D for Bird.

Bird is an assassin. He's always been a highly efficient scorer. If this translates to nba games, sign him to a cheap long  term deal

I don't know what the hell Larranaga is thinking not playing Semi and Yabu more than 25 minutes. The rest of the roster not named Bird or Allen are no way in hell making the roster. We need to develop these guys faster so they can contribute more to the team.

Bird did and it was nice to see.  He looked dejected as he walked off the floor as players and coaches did the traditional high (or low) five before doing the obligatory same thing with the other team.

If that was the case, they should have let Tatum tear up the summer league for these meaningless wins.

In fairness to everyone else on the team, it's pretty hard to do/show anything when the "point guard" never passes the ball. Where did they find this Pierria Henry guy, anyway? Was he doing the valet parking, or something? ::)

Bird looked good on offense, not bad on defense, but you really couldn't tell much with the way the rest of the team was playing. Other than Bird, though, this was a p--- poor excuse for a game.

Did we need to see the interview with the Denver head coach?  Couldn't we have just listened while still being able to watch the game at full screen?

I have to say the Summer league announcers and tendency to go on about things other than the game is annoying...but easily forgiven...

split screen interview not so forgivable at all...   are they proud of the "technology"?

I don't know what the hell Larranaga is thinking not playing Semi and Yabu more than 25 minutes. The rest of the roster not named Bird or Allen are no way in hell making the roster. We need to develop these guys faster so they can contribute more to the team.

Like the guys playing aside from Bird are any better. And who the hell cares about winning in a summer league game?

If that was the case, they should have let Tatum tear up the summer league for these meaningless wins.
Larranaga actually stated they really do want to win these games, but I believe they want to give these guys a chance to show their skills even if not making the team.  I guess I'm OK with that for a couple of games, but that should be enough.

Get Williams back and play him, Yabu, Semi, Bird, Allen as much as possible.

Some nice work by Henry last night to take advantage of an opportunity.

Excellent delivery off the dribble in transition at 7:45 of the first, with the left hand. 

Gets around his man, breaks down the defense at 3:45 of the first, makes the simple pass to Bird for the layup.

At 2:52 of the fourth, terrific footwork to beat his man and accelerate for the layup.

Good footspeed, moves the ball up quick. Looks like he can run an offense.

No turnovers.

There's also an unspoken agreement that players will get at least some run when they join your summer league team. The players are there to show teams, both NBA and international, what they can do. For the NBA teams it's not really about development, it's more about seeing if there is anyone who they might want to invite to training camp.

By and large you’re right, and there are international scouts as well. It’s a pro ball talent bazaar!

Having said that, especially second-year players come to workshop skills in game conditions. Last year Jaylen was working on being a facilitator, for instance, and after the first game not especially looking for his shot; and we saw some of that from Ojeleye last night as well. It would sure be interesting to know how much input the coaching staff had in that.
