PG: Ricky Rubio, Raymond Felton
SG: Alonzo Gee, Demar Derozan
SF: Paul Pierce
PF: Dirk Nowitzki
C: Deandre Jordan, DeJuan Blair

Don't see why you'd need to sit Derozen. Sure, he's an asset on the bench, but so is Gee, and Derozen is the more productive player.

I know next to nothing about gee, but i got concerns bout derozan starting. Him and rubio are a terrible defensive combo and their inability to hit an open three could hurt spacing.

agreed, derozan and Rubio together have spacing issues. a lot of sagging in the paint.

I know you have pierce but in a different situation I would even consider playing derozan at the three

Looking for feedback on Portland

G: Damien Lillard, R.Sessions
F: Nic Batum
F: Thabo Sefolosha, K.Singler
F: Nick Collison, B.Bass
C: LaMarcus Aldridge, J.Valanciunas

I think it is very similar to the current Blazers team.

A few differences between the two teams though:
  • A more polished big man prospect in Valanciunas instead of M.Leonard
  • An upgrade on Portland's second starting wing with Thabo Sefolosha there instead of Wes Matthews
  • Nick Collison instead of JJ Hickson who gives the Blazers much better interior and team defense
  • An above average bench instead of the garbage Portland has been fielding this year.
I think those differences give your squad more value. Probably 10-12 extra wins. I think Portland is on something like a 35 win pace so that would bring you up to the mid-40s win wise.

And having a strong prospect like J.Valanciunas over a raw prospect like M.Leonard gives your squad a much more, emm ... tangible future. Something you can depend on. Build around with expectations.

L.Aldridge and J.Valanciunas will be a very effective big man combination in the long term. Their size and length is going to be an intimidating factor for whoever plays against you. Combined with two big wings in Batum and Thabo and Portland clearly has the early stages of a top notch defensive (and rebounding) team down the road.

A probable title contender in another 2-3 years time.

High 40 wins gets us in the playoffs, I'd say that's an improvement.

Rubio is a good defender. He has good size for a point guard and rarely gets beat. He also plays the passing lanes better than most. His defense has improved a lot since he's been in the league. His shooting is his only flaw.
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

One of the best help defenders in the league at the PG position. Rubio.

Danny Green / Gary Neal

Pau Gasol / Bismack Biyombo

Thoughts?  Targeting a fifth big and defensive-minded wing with my next two picks.

Need a big center. Someone with legitimate size. Real size. Physical power.

I would probably take a burly power forward too. Someone with bulk/muscle. A physical player.

Those would be my two main priorities.

Then select the best perimeter player available. The versatility of Gary Neal (OG/PG - third string PG) and Earl Clark (PF/SF - third string defensive SF) means you can pick pretty much any perimeter position and still have enough depth across the board.

I like the balance and the fit of the roster overall.

Love the Maxiell pick. In a pinch, he can play next to Lee if McGee goes off the reservation, I think.

Not sure what else to recommend given your cap situation. Perhaps a defensive wing specialist and a big who can stretch the floor a little?

Nice work.

Yes, I think your rotation would be strengthened considerably if you got a legit 7-footer who can man the middle and throw his weight around. Even if he's just a 10-minute guy.

I haven't seen much of Neal this season, but does he provide a different skill set from Robinson? Seems somewhat redundant.

Very good team.

I think it needs more size on the PF/C position but if Gasol and Thompson can "man up" this is a team to be dealing with.

Here's the Rockets so far.
Chalmers/Manu (Reggie Jackson)
Harden/Manu
Chandler/Marv Williams
Nene/Chandler
Hawes/Ezeli

I'm trying to decide between adding a wing and slotting more time for Chandler/Williams at the 4, or adding a traditional 4 and keeping them more on the wing.

Thoughts?

I'm worried about Lee and Westbrook playing together. Lee live on pick and rolls most of the time, will Westbrook pass him  the ball?

That's my only question. Outside of that, I dig this team. The talent is certainly there.

Yeah BOY!

Good: The defensive backbone of Iggy/Deng/Noah. The real strength and identity of the team.

Bad (?): Davis and Rush are done for the year, and Chauncey is on his last legs, so contending this year for a title seems out of reach, considering the lack of depth. Brand and Billups likely won't be able to do much for you next year when the other guys come back.

Ugly?: When Ellis isn't hitting his shots, this team might struggle to score 80.
