Per Gary Washburn's twitter : The #Celtics have reached out to free-agent tough guy forward Reggie Evans, who said he was "honored" by the Celtics interest

Exactly what we lack, rebounding and toughness. His 12.5 boards per game, in just 28 minutes per game, is something we definitely need. Will be nice to be able to sub KG and not get pounded on the boards at the PF spot.

Now there's a guy I wouldn't mind, if healthy, to be coming off the Celtics bench.

I prefer his teammate Joey Dorsey. At least Dorsey can play solid defense.

Pros:  This guy is tough, intense, blue collar.  He has ball magnets for hands (to the extreme displeasure of Chris Kaman.)  He's a good passer.  His lack of athleticism and size make him an OK defender but not more.  He's a good team-mate and likable guy.  Great intangibles.
Cons:  0 offense.  He literally had a game with 0 points and 20 rebounds.  No ball handling.  Not very fast on the court.

He's a solid role-player to have on your bench as long as you have no illusions of him being a legit backup center.

+1

Dorsey is about the same in terms of Hustle + Rebounding

Sure he didnt play much with Toronto last season, But looking at his stats with so few minutes. Im sure he could be a Rebounding Beast down here in Boston!

I like Reggie Evans also. He is just a rebounding machine!

Evans is a great energy guy that will steal a couple of games for you with his ridiculous nose for the ball.

That being said...I hope we wouldnt be relying on him for much more than spot energy minutes.

Certainly can't hurt if we can get him for the minimum - we could use the rebounding. Defense is a little spotty, of course, but that's before he plays with KG and under Doc. I'd be willing to give him a shot for what he brings to the table.

Another guy who'd be nice to roll with the starters once in a while.  Extra possessions for the Big 3 are always nice.

Its funny because if GD every got his head out of his butt, hed bring just as much energy to the table as Evens but with more skill to score the basketball.

He may be a one trick pony, but I would rather have a master at one skill (which we DESPERATELY lack!) than someone who could score 5 points a night for us. Reggie off the bench as a 8th or 9th man would be awesome

idk how to feel about this he can rebound but has 0 offense as long as he's willing to come in for the veterans minimum I guess I'll be down

Got to like to rumors. C's are going after defense and rebounding. Remains to be seen whether Green and Jjuan can proivde some additional scoring, but I think they can.
